Whatever it was, the whole setup is a blight on the HFL for allowing it to continue.

As expected, TV 60+ goals, Callington 0.0. Best Players; The HFL Board of Directors.
What an absolute thrill the TV juggernaut must get out of a hollow victory such as this.

HFL is still in a far better state than the Southern League for any of the past 7 - 8 seasons.

Create a third division with Sedan, Callington, Aldinga, and Hackham. I believe all sides are fielding A's, B's and a full compliment of juniors. Flinders U and Glenunga would also be about the same standard and close to the hills, but I think both lack juniors.
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

I like your thinking, Glenunga is only 5mins from the CBD though & they are going very well this season...could throw in McLaren Vale & Milang

Hackham proved competitve against Div7 sides in trials in the past years, of which, Glenunga is a part. Looking at the http://saafl.asn.au/stats/venues.php Glenunga is the closest club to the freeway mouth.

McLaren would be too strong for this grouping.

Hackham is under 20ks from Kangarilla and they manage to travel to Sedan. (Google Maps)

Anyway, just a suggestion on how to find some more competitive football matches. Out

As someone with some involvement with Sedan, I ask that you don't write off the club after 1 year. There are alot of positives with the setup there, but the transition from the 16 a side Mid Murray comp to the Hills comp will take more than a year to complete. The current group have some promise but have to adjust to the fitness levels required to compete in the Hills. The mindset and commitment levels also have to change. Plus the addition of some more players again next year to help with depth, and the recruitment of 1 or 2 topline players and you'll find a more than competitive club. You can be assured that the club or players won't be content with getting beltings most weeks and will strive to improve.

Always have a chuckle when you blokes moan about the distances that you may have to travel.

Wirrulla in the Mid West FL travel 400 kms (round trip) to play Elliston and there's no petrol discount cycle over there - $1.40+ a litre.
I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. I can't put it down.

That is "devotion to the cause" and very admirable. We know it happens but why do it if you don't have to?

Saw enchunga for the first time this year at kangarilla on saturday, and they were very impressive!! Surely must be one of the favourites for 2010. Is it true that they still have a few key players to come back into the side?

probably leave Sedan and Callington alone i reckon, they manage to put 2 sides on the park every week and gives there community an identity.. there clubs have been around longer than most people writing crap on here and hopefully if all the knockers give them a chance to rebuild well after your gone aswell..

all clubs have their ups and downs, thats what its all about, they are also entitled to their decade or how ever long it takes, less than 5 years ago they played finals footy, a bigger issue for the league is when a club spends 100k+ on players and then every other club has to try and compete so every one ends up spending more, id be knocking that club before you pick on the outer aussie battler.

The Echunga team that played Kangy on the weekend was not one of their best. CHB Mid-fielders missing. Still around 4-6 to come back into the A's. And maybe a player from last year returning!

Well not having seen the team before Saturday, I thought they were very sharp and certainly looked like a pretty confident side. When can we expect to see them at full strength?

I think echunga have a very good side this year even a bit quicker by foot than last year when they played maccy a couple of weeks ago they smashed us in the first quarter when the conditions were dry however as soon as the rains came we were able to match them for the remainder of the match. Still lost by 10 or so goals tho

Come on Breezer, give it a break, I'm starting to cry! The HFL is not a benevolent society for lost dogs! What possible benefit could a team get from being demolished by 63 goals? Both Sedan-Cambrai and Callington are light years away from being competitive.
