peake held there auction night saturday night and was a huge success. A huge thank you must go to all those who donated products to be auctioned off with the club raising over $30,000.

A special mention must go to Corey Smelt, Luke Hocking and leighton Huxtable to be heavily involved in karoonda and donate items to another clubs auction is a very good effort so thanks very much guys.

This weeks results could shake the Mallee ladder slightly:
A win to Murrayville over Karoonda this week and a loss for Lameroo against BDT could see Mville jump to 2nd and Lameroo fall to 3rd (pending %)
Also, with an almost guranteed win to Peake this week, Karoonda could find themselves out of the top four...

So there are rumours floating around the RMFL that there is trouble in the mallee and it may only be a year or two till a team folds or moves to a different comp.

Can anyone shed any light on this subject?

Seriously hope not but from what I hear, if this is the case (very big if) then the league will potentially fall which could mean Karoonda joining us hear or maybe a joint team from the mallee.

Anyone else heard this talk?

Persistant rumour from down south that Mallee League will be a 5 team comp as soon as next year. Mallee FL feeling out RMFL re almagamation making 12 teams with two divisions. ??

2 divisions wouldn't work with the current sides in the RMFL, as that would be 6 clubs per division & 5 from the div 2 would be the current Malle league clubs. Not even BDT would get close to a Top 5 club this year IMO. Last year......... maybe??

I might not have understood the situation as explained, but they wouldn't need to be competitive with the 5 top clubs initially as it would start with the bottom team from RMFL relegated to Div 2 ie Mallee. Also I think you may find that BDT haven't gone backwards this year but the rest of the league excl.Pinnaroo has improved.

Would a merger between Karoonda and Peake work? And then entry into RMFL to make 8th club. The clubs/towns aren't particularly close geographically so that could cause a problem. Perhaps home games could be swapped between Karoonda Oval and the old Redlegs Oval (showgrounds).

Would BDT ever consider going to KNT?

What options are available to Lameroo and Pinnaroo?
