Drama can you tell us a bit more about Jai - what sort of player is he?

He was TB's ruckman a couple of years ago before moving to WA. He's also capable of playing up forward.

Thanks GWW. Unfortunately like most clubs Tailem need to rely on recruits to keep sides on the park each week. With the number of players that are from Adelaide i doubt if they're on a huge amount of coin each week except maybe one or two..however I could be wrong. I believe club needs to take responsibility for who they recruit and should have done there homework.

i believe the players that are from adelaide are on a huge amount of coin. thats why they came to play there in the first place. i agree the club needs to take responsibility for there recruits and do there homework. they also need to take responsibility for who the coach is recruiting. he obviously isnt targeting the right players. you cant blame the players for taking the money if you were offered reasonable money to play not many would say no. i believe comer is on around $600 a game. i agree that alot of players are playing out of position. perhaps the reason they havent had the success so far that they had hoped for is because of these players saying where they will play not the coach coaching the team and playing players where they should be playing. i also believe the only people saying tailem will go far this year was the tailem players/supporters on this forum.

Round 6 this week:

Ramblers V Tailem Bend - the Chooks in very good form at the moment, will have too many forwards for Tailem to contain. Tailem will need one of their forwards to step up to have any chance of an upset. Ramblers 71-80.

Meningie V Mannum - Meningie will have a slight chance of causing a boilover at home, but the Roos with Clive sure to lift for his second game, should win by 51-60.

Mypolonga V Jervois - Jervois after getting smashed last week should come out firing, Mypo at home may just get up though 11-20.

Apart from Comer, who else have tailem recruited this year? They seem to have a majority of the same players from what i've heard. Comers kicked 10 goals so far from limited supply by the sounds of things, who else could tailem push forward?

A couple of mates that play at Mannum aren't too happy with his attitude on the field.

GWW, Mannum were about 7 goals down at 3/4 time.

Was at the Mypo v Jervois game on Sat, & saw Mypo vitually have the game in the bag. They look to have a heap of Kids playing!!! & this hurt them down the stretch. Joel Eckermann went off with what looked like a very serious knee injury in the first 1/4 & white didn't play. If they can get some consistancy out of their Kids, they may still be in finals. Jervois looked to be beaten 1/2 way through the 3rd, but to their credit they hung in & got a good win.

I watched Tailem again, like I try too every week, must say, as every week, the forward line struggled.

Almost every goal was kicked by midfielders, in Marks, Bell, Raidis, Hogarth and Williams.

Tailem only went down by 4 goals and welcome back Shires, Sumner, MJ Kropinyeri, Linke and Gregory for this week, and also Hansen will make an appearance, so it certainly isn't doom and gloom for the Eagles.

But something needs to be done with their high paid forwards, who are struggling to get amongst it.

Caught the second half of the mypo vs tailem game. Looked to be a solid performance from tailem and the recruits seemed to be given a run in their natural possies. A big improvment on the ramblers game. Mypo looked flat, and poor kicking by tailem was the saviour for them.

Mate tell me other than comer who has played mostly up forward, out of all the the recruits who else has been played out of position. I think you have no idea ???. Comer spent more time on the ball which made a big different, but every other recruit has not changed their position from the start of the season. I must say the best recruit of the year played his first game for the eagles, and boy did he come to play the best first up game for a new club I have seen for along time, Tailem Bend has a new wizard and its not muffy. Micheal Sumner with no pre season put on a football display which only class players can.

He's definitely a class act, he did something similar for Imps late last season as well.

Did he play mainly up forward DTP or some of the time in the midfield?
