It is the furthest from the truth! Must be from another team in the RMFL because it isn't from the Bluds. I did hear that Teflon is trying to recruit one of the ruckman from South who used to play for Richmond. Supposedly he's not getting much time down at South and is going to join the Bays. There was another bloke but now I can't remember his name....

I see that the Southern Zone team is going to withdraw from the Championships if the SANFL don't put the RMFL back into the Southern area! Very interesting....

There will be a Southern zone team and it will be run by KI and it is rumoured Barry Pilmore will be the coach regardless of River Murray's involvement. Players are invited from Great Southern to play in the championships and apparently those names are in the hands of the clubs. The clubs are clashing with the league exec by fully supporting the zone game by all accounts.
If Bays get the players from Seaton Ramblers and South they are chasing they will not only make the 5 but will finish top 3 and be a serious threat.
Bass has been busy with a number of zero point players returning to the club in 2009.
Baylis, Rolfe, McLean and Modra are all set to come back to the blue and gold.

I think you will find Cox was in the best in the paper for EB? Not sure who else they are chasing but it wouldn't be inconceivable that Baylis will play for EB in 09 would it? Especially if they are not spending big dollars this year in comparison to previous and especially if Bassani is around the traps. I'm tipping a new coach of the A'Grade however.

Bays lost the plot on the weekend and Yank also spanked a fancied Goolwa but Mypo should've done a better job against the Vics aswell.

Interesting run home with games, Bays need to win the ones they lost by under a kick earlier in the year while Victor need to beat two of the top three sides.

Yank (minus all of the new recruits) were very good on the weekend. I think they may cause a few more upsets this season especially at Yank. They grow an extra leg when the crowd gets involved. as for the Saints we lost the plot. We have been working on all the positives but 5 50m penalties and 2 send offs was a real step backwards. The only real positive was 6 goals from Trent Griffen. Without Paredes, Pudney, L.Hirst and Evans we were light on in goal kicking power. Was a pretty good game of footy. 36 goals.

Have heard of Rolfe looking for a local club heard he may even try to get a clearance to a improving SFL side, as for Baylis and Mods I have heard some talk that they are both keen to get back there but don't hold your breath. Would certainly be a big boost again in a fast improving EB side.

cox has been a great inclusion at the bay and for a new bloke that has only played two games has taken a leadership role already, didnt take long for blokes to look up to a player of his calibure. If there were other clubs waiting for his signature bad luck, has been very good for the bays in the short time.

goolwa are the fremantle of the compeition, all the hype about how good a team is and then put in a woofull show each week. Not sure what can happen out at goolwa, just shows that sometimes its better relying on your locals to develop your squad rather than pull in 10 or 12 new blokes that most of the locals dont like anyway. Popey should play his senior colts each week now.

Probably a fair call about the fremantle side of things, but i think you'll find we have a pretty good outlook on developing locals, in fact 4 senior colts played on the weekend. As well as this we had the likes of Trent Griffen, Ferguson, Cuthbert, Stewart and Evans who are all 18-21 year olds. On the weekend the effort was woeful but that has not been the case all year.

Bit harsh Kappars. Mods will play at the Bay next year reagardless of who is coach and is the link to get Rofe, Ryan Smart and McLean. Sick of the travel already. Heard Nigel Smart (zero points) may even play a few games in 2009 with Modra. Baylis has a lot of respect for Bassani, so don't worry about the Bays, they are still with a show to make finals.
What about Saints???? Sorry, but questions have to be asked! Every side in the competition are playing colts.

Ooooh good use of some very misguided bait there - I will be sure to pass it on, I would imagine it would be fed into the 'give a toss' tray. I think Mr Bassani has more pressing issues on his mind... like maybe the current season and how the hell the Bays will make finals.

TC the bays from here definitely pushing it to make the finals with an inferior % than Victor and 2 games behind.

Will be an interesting run home for these 2 sides, Victors destiny in their own hands, E Bay relying on Victor to drop at least 2 games and for them to win all of theirs. Compass and Strath look to be safe with only 8 games left and the Creeks still impressing.

The bottom 4 sides probably cant make the finals now but can certainly shape it in regards to the week off, the double chance spot and whether Victor or E Bay make the 5.

The only point this makes is that the fight for the five is still very very much open.

I indeed said the fight for the 5 was very open but the Bays were certainly not in prime position to take that 5th spot. I also agree with you that the make up, positions in the 5 are far from set and any 1 of the 5 spots are still up for grabs.

Ur optimism that the Bays will win every game except the game against Willunga and that Victor will drop every game except 3 is also a little biased towards the Bays but understandable! I think both sides have a chance against any of the sides and definitely both are deserving of a finals spot. Who knows if the wheels fall off somewhere both Victor and E Bay could make the 5 and one of the top 4 could drop out.

Going to be an interesting and exciting run home, and also the game against Willunga is for the Mccracken Cup if you had forgotten so your boys will be up and about for that one also!!
