I heard a rumour that Whopper was exploring his options
but that was months ago, He's worked hard to get to this point
you'd reckon he would stick it out this year and try and establish himself.

probably the same as a boston lad sittin next to dorza, mal or ky!

And I don't have a problem with it, I was just pointing out a recent post made by our glass house owning stone thrower... 8)

yeh i no dorza's a boston lad but i also no how much coin he is on so im just pointin it out!

played in teams with lads on big $$$$$ and when it brings premierships not to many locals care about not getting a cent, especially when the money men stand up and earn their $$$$ ..... if your club can get its hands on the $$$$ why wouldnt you splash it around and get the best players avaliable ????

And generally the $$$$ men are the first ones off the track, the first ones to grab a beer, the first ones in the shower, the first ones to leave the change rooms, the first ones not to show at the club after the game, the first ones not to volunteer and the first ones signing a clearance at the end of the year. all the while the club man sitting next to him is picking up his slack. He should be the one getting the $$$

maybe thats what you have seen, and ive seen the other side, the $$$$ boys behind the bar working for free, playing their 5th year in a row at the same club, going out of their way to attened club / town functions, being loved by the club supporters ........ and if you look at francis situation things suggest he could be in lincoln for many years to come and is a top lad, so if his getting $800 a game well done to him, and well done to whoever his playing for!!

There will always be stories of people getting paid big dollars to play footy and being jock stuffers, while the MJ, Kotter, Kidney type players bust their hump for the love of the jumper.

Some of these big dollar players take that on board, and are the guys behind the bar, or in the kitchens, and others are "take the money and run" type guys...

You just have to, as a club, weigh up how much a potential ass clown could win you a flag, knowing that they might just be the breath of fresh air every club is after.

1 questions, if tasmans didnt pay francis the money, how many other clubs would have paid him??
you need to take a chance with paying players of course, but i bet the majority of lincoln clubs would have offered him money!! so it now seems od other clubs are having a go at tasmans??

Agree Rama. Plus, Reece is a good egg. He'll be good at any club. Not a grab the cash and run sort of bloke either. Great recruit

those guys came out to training with us but the lure of the $ will see them sign with Cougars
kwf, march 2010, from old thread.

did someone mention glass houses!!! maybe tasmans sold their club well to reece and there were other factors that don't involve money, that is why you don't accuse clubs of offering wing loads of money when you don't get the signing. maybe just move on.

In terms of locals 'playing', you'd want to see as many as possible. If that's interspersed with the odd recruit on coin that's playing up to expectations, so be it, screw the actual figure. Anyone on here that's won a flag and thinks that they had a look around the changerooms on the big day and felt animosity over the $$ splashed around is surely kidding themselves. If those recruits participate in club events, kitchen duty, clinics etc, that is SMART RECRUITING.
