ok doke Mo, Youngy was selected by, well, the selectors and Jared was not that is the first thing to consider here.
Now, i have it on good authority that Jared Wilson was a selector, but he had very little to do with the actual side in the wash up, he wasn't there and certainly wasn't mentioned over the bar afterwards at the pub, his brother Joel became a key advisor. Whether Jared spoke with Mossy/seection comittee and told them he wasn't up to it or whatever is anyone's guess but i'm pretty sure that if he wasn't picked he shouldn't have played.
Youngy is a bit stiff but i can also appreciate the leagues decision to penalise blokes who were not available. now before you all get up me, the league and the blokes that went around at snowtown last week take pride in Assoc games and we most certainly do not want to be in the same situation as other leagues in having good players running around and for whatever reason do not want to play. To be honest you want the best players in your comp. then if you cannot have all of them you have the best available, you don't want to have to go much further than that in Assoc footy.
Did youngy train at all with the squad? i'll probably need to look into that.
Whatever the outcome we could argue the toss all day and not find a reolution so we have to lick our wounds and get back on with the job as the carnival is headed our way next year, probably Balak if i were to guess.

Andy as a man on the board why dont you say the truth mate not just go around saying (what ive heard at the pub). As for the guys not being available how would the APFL like it if none of the players said anything before the last training session then come the friday before the game they are meant to play, they say oops im not available, how would the league like this. Atleast some of the guys gave a fair amount of notice which in future doesnt mean a thing. How would the league like this. Maybe mention this at ur next meeting mate.

Just to defend my comments on the previous post FF.
Firstly , a lot of what goes on in this league get discussed over a few beers be it at the pub or at a club, so what i've said is what i've heard.
And i think you'll find that most of the men selected want to play and just to be out there is an honour, so if a playere did that not only would he cop it from the league but he would cop it from the players who did play later on. i would expect that most players have enough guts to do the right thing. i guess the answer for those of you who think some players are hard done by is to get your club president to complain and contest the decision or to tell those players to get out to training even if they are unavailable to play. Andrew Evans was not able to play but fronted up thursday night before the game. of course the other alternative is to deal with it!!
Oh, and Andy is aware of most of this as you would expect, but i'm not Andy!!

What Andy Evans has had to go through is a bit over the top. if you organise a trip away in january i think you should be entitled to take it without the league wanting to sit your mother on a lie detector to determine whether or not his eldest son ( by 10 seconds i believe) is telling the truth. Sure, we take pride in the league and in association games but to cop the wrath of your wife if you had to cancel a weekend away with her to play 3 two halved games, i wouldnt wish than on anyone as im sure you guys would agree. There is nothing worse than a woman scorned.

You should bloody well want to play Assoc footy its an honour that a lot of guys in the league don't get the chance to and before it disappears we should embrace it.
