Ran into former Double Blue John Richter at the Nelson (Victoria) Hotel on Saturday night.
Despite having had a few ales, he was very accomodating and more than happy to have a chat about his past and current footballing exploits.
Said that he is still playing for South Gambier but is out of action at the moment due to pulling a hamstring a couple of weeks ago.

Interested to see that former Glenelg and Crow listed player Josh Kreuger, who I think went back to WB last year, has signed on to play WAFL in Perth.

ORDB- just reading back over previous posts in this thread- Lucas herbert be happy to get a mention for his 15 AFL games- just wondering if that includes the one he sat on the bench for the entire game while Ormond Allen rucked!!

 No worries mate. You just reminded me about that '99 season when Blight coached and I know there was 1 game where he picked a player in the 22 for that player to sit the entire match on the bench (apparently to teach him a lesson), I wonder if that was Herbert?
A mate of mine played with him at Edwardstown in 2001 and he looked to have plenty of ability but appeared to take his football fairly casually.

Apparently he was a decent player, but you should see him these days, you wouldn't believe it was the same person.

He's looking good these days. He must have read your post ORD, bit of motivation I think

Saw an article in last Sunday's Mail about a 15 year old from this league who has already played senior rep footy.
Can't remember his name but does anyone know the lad?
How good do you think he could be?
I'm sure the Bays have already been talking to him.

Cameron Campbell, old style footballer and played seniors interleague last year (2006) and only played U18s rep footy this year to win the Vic champs. Only get to see him 3 or 4 times a year and is probably too "country" to move to the bays.

Mark coached Hamilton.
Maybe you should talk to The Rooster about how he went ;)

I'll have some WBFL news for you tomorrow morning.

Wattsy is contracted down there for next year so will be staying. They improved on 06 and he seemed happy with footy and life over there when I spoke to him at WBFL GF, so would imagine he'd stay unless a better coaching position comes up.
