Yep - that's old news.
But Chaplin nearly losing his head? What's all that about?

Might be referring to when van Dommele was Barossa coach in the early 90s.

He brought a whole bunch of imports with him to the club.

They all 'lived' in the caravan park at Williamstown Oval.

Made the prelim that year but lost both finals.

And Gavin Chaplin almost lost his head.

You have a good memory Magpie, Matt Gerlach from Nuriootpa hit Chaplin with an elbow in bewteew the eyes, Chaplin spent 3 days in hospital. The worst thing i have seen on a footy field, Chaplin had eye and skull damaged missed the rest of the season.

Ohhhh no wonder he went up to Renmark the season after that!

Don't be surprised if Ango with the new skipper Brenton 'Nature Boy' Bascombe (whoooooooooooooooooooooooooo!) get themselves back on track replaceing the 'Prince' Matt Doecke who now has a statue commisioned of him in the main street next to Foodland

Apparently, you could hear the 'crack' all around the ground.

Still dirty about it in Williamstown/Lyndoch...

Absolute rubbish - I played in that game and there was no elbow involved. IF you ever saw Matt play (or train) he was fair but very tough - to say it was an elbow is ridiculous.

Unless the joint in your arm has been renamed that was a elbow, I was 5m away, that was a elbow.

Shoulder .... but there again we wont agree.... I remember a few years earlier Tanunda having similar complaints about Kym Feltus trying to get him rubbed out - luckily someone in the crowd was taping it and was able to show Kym had done nothing wrong..... pity we didn't have a camera there at Williamstown.

...... and judging by the way Barossa Districts handled the John Thompsons transfer I imagine the club hasn't "forgotten".

What about the Damian Lister and Adam Elix transfer last year, We cleared you Micheal Coad a player in his early 20's and then you would only clear a 35 year old if he doesn't play against you after he sponsored your club..........

H'mmm and I wonder why our club would be iffy about clearing players to you. ..... as I said - remember Thommo ? .... sounds like a tongue in cheek payback to me.

(I haven't been that close to the club over last year or 2)

Played saturday v Barossa, maybe he is not happy about the money they paid for Craig Tayler, $600 a game plus the $5500 for the clearance from Sturt makes him a expensive player. On Barry Kasler looked ok last saturday he has come down from the Riverland, Loxton or Loxton North i think..

Came from Loxton North.
Played some time at Glenelg.

There was talk from some close friends of his that he'd be back for yesterday's Anzac Day game. He didn't play. So he may be staying at Tanunda. Who really knows with Bazz though....
