yeah, rhys played very well as usual. always plays to a pretty high standard though he has missed a few goals of late. he prefers playing in the midfield but has had to be used up forward of late as we haven't had many goalkickers. ash got a couple on saturday so hopefully he has turned the corner with his goal kicking.

For the record, DW beat CN 1-0 in contests where they were opposed to each other on Saturday.
Not bad for a bloke on one leg!

Oh yeah - it's worth saying that one very maligned umpire had his best game as an official that I've seen. A really good effort from him on Saturday.
It's worth mentioning cos he does cop a bagging consistently and deserves a pat on the back when he does well.
He even donated a jug to Crabman for his hanger!

We had a few out but so did they.
Their outs probably hurt them more than ours did.
We were pretty ordinary in the first quarter, but they made us work pretty hard too.

If we win we can pretty much keep Lyrup out of 2nd spot.

He was still ordinary DW. Just better than normal.

You guys need to have a few games in lower amatuer level
you will see ordinary then believe me

yes you get some wierd calls that are just wrong but the guys you have up there are 10 times better than umpires form div 5 down

I don't mind if umpires are ordinary, I just hate when they talk to you in the game like f*cking know-alls.

And the umpire in question definitely does that.
Even before and after the game he can be a really arrogant sh*t.

saw moorook play paringa on saturday DW. you guys went ok considerin you dont have many tall players. thought rover carved you up that bloke can take a grab. number 13 2 and 17 were good too. the big bloke you had at fullfoward went alright

HP - you're right, height has been a problem for us over the past few seasons. Paringa has plenty of that and it's hard to beat when you just kick the ball to them.
Twinners (Ryan Pietrolaj) did play very well up forward too - he just needed to finish off a bit better.
We seem to be able to match it with the top three sides, it's just a matter of improving our composure when disposing of the ball and supporting the ball carrier a bit better. Some younger, more skilled midfielders with a bit more zip might be a bit useful as well.
