C'mon BJ.. show a bit of faith in yourself and your team mates. With a bit of self belief I'm sure you can win by 200 points.

I Played 'A' grade against Willunga about 25 years ago at Willunga on an Absolute BOG oval and we gave ourselves a chance of an upset and ended up getting beaten about 37 goals to 3.
Nothing has Changed as far as i can see, in fact Willunga look even more dominant now then what they were then. Rain or no rain, wont make any difference. 150 +

VH got up over the Saints today at Victor by 19 points. In a very ugly game, the Saints had a lot more of the play and more inside 50's but couldnt capitalise. For VH I thought Hodge was brilliant, Reeves and Hames I thought were good as well. For the Saints probably Evans and Cuthbert were the 2 best and Stringer in the ruck beat 2 much bigger opponents.

Probably the biggest disappointment of the day was the shocking umpiring. Both umpires in 11 degrees and rain decided to wear zink cream on their noses, took 5 minutes or so to start each quarter to make sure every kid was behind the fence, argued with players, officials and spectators and in gerneral were inconsistent. If it was all about them then today they achieved their goal. If you think this is sour grapes your wrong. Free kick count VH 32, Saints 10. I personally wouldn't have been upset if we walked off at 3/4 time. Spoiled what was set up to be a great contest between 2 emerging sides.

WE MUST FIND UMPIRES THAT HAVE PLAYED THE GAME SO THAT THEY HAVE AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT IS HAPPENING

Zinc cream on their noses, absolute gold. They are a different breed, but having kids on the other side of the boundary I can understand. maybe they thought global warming was happening sooner rather than later so they were protecting against acid rain........

Bindi or Bundi, I think you just called me a soft %&$% for some reason and I dont understand your rant. One thing I can say is that the Saints paid players were genuinely hurt beacuse of the loss yesterday, but I couldnt see much enthusiasm from the Victor boys. I think money in local footy has an effect but the day of truly local teams is well and truly over. Unfortunately association footy is dead for what resaon I dont know. I think its because of the lack of rivalry.

One thing I should say (before I get called an umpire basher). I have umpired mini colts, junior colts and B grade. As well as this I also umpired an A grade trial last year and got some good feedback. The big problem with umpiring is that it is difficult to get to an A grade level. When I had a leg injury i made some enquiries and was told (even after playing football for 20 years) that I would need to do a heap of training and wouldnt be able to umpire at a grade level for several years. The umpire I spoke to basically laughed at me when I said I would like to umpire A's straight up. Thats why the ex players dont take up umpiring!!!!

Cost comes into it mate, who is going to pay for the GSFL to get a bus over the gulf on the ferry to play a game of footy?? The leagues struggle for coin as it is and I can't see the representative players forking out $2-300 each to play a game of footy...... You never get the best players playing association footy anyway so bragging would be irrelivant. To be completely honest mate who really cares at the end of the day. Off the top of your head tell me who won an association game 10 years ago, then off the top of your head tell me who won the flag in your league 10 years ago. I bet you can answer the latter straight away but would struggle with the 1st. I played U17's association and I rate that no where as good as playing my 1st A grade game for my club.......

I totally agree with your last comment Kooka. I played u17's as well, but it was a much prouder and more memorable moment to play my first A grade match for the town i grew up in.

Cyclops, now that the Mighty Emus (who i rate as high as any side going round and have great respect and admiration for) have dropped a game to Hallett Cove whats the thoughts now? Are we still likely to receive the flogging you predicted us to! I personally think the game would be great, both sides showed that at the start of the year at South Adelaide in a game that couldve gone either way!

There would be some great matchups all over the ground with ones like Hams v Smith, Short v Steele, Pollard v Bennett, Bayly v Carnevale and the list goes on. Players like Earl, Hill, both the Bayly boys, Joras making a return they have a great squad and Cove must have played a blinder to get up! Good to see Joshy Vick have a good game also would have liked to watch him and Brayden go head to head in the middle, among the 2 best rovers in country footy for sure!

Intersting to see was the Compass victory. I for 1 certainly didnt expect it, but maybe last week has awoken the dogs and they are back on track again! Brilliant work by all down at Mt Compass to turn it around this week!

You SFL blokes over rate your top teams because your bottom teams are so terrible. You won't be satisfied unless Willunga (or Strath or Langhorne Creek) move to the SFL and dominate it for 100 years. Which if you brush up on your history you will see that Willunga had already done before it moved to the GSFL looking for a challenge.

Yeh you are right Grape Ape Willunga did dominate the SFL 100 years ago so I supose you blokes still would!!!!! My opinion is top teams from GSFL and SFL similar and lower teams similar as well

I think the top teams in both leagues are very close but i don't know about the bottom sides, i for one think Yankalilla would beat a Hackham (by alot), Aldinga, Noarlunga, Christies, Morphettville Park, and Lonsdale.

bays came away with the points on sat, in a hard fought game in suprisingly very good conditions, the rain held off during the game and the oval was in very good condition compared to other years at pongy, normally it is a mud bath. The difference for the bays compared to the last two weeks was a full foward who could kick some goals. Brown delivered and kicked six on the weekend and took some good grabs. This enabled the bays to finish off where as other weeks they have kicked them selves out of the game after going into the last quarter either infront or down by 1 or 2 goals.

Would have been handy to have him in the line up against victor and creeks. Big mover was compass, suprisingly over strath, strath have had a lot of hype built around them but maybe TC was right why is everyone so confident at strath? I see Willunga dont get any weaker in their lower grades with that absoloute smashing over yank in the B grade, F$#k

I think your right here Damian; so can it be said that leagues can be judged by not only their top 2 sides but their bottom side? Would give an overall indication of the strength of any league wouldn't it?

Saint noone kicked a bag, 15 different goal kickers with 2 players kicking 6 and then a couple of 5s. Full Forward Clint Howes kicked 6 up until early in the 2nd quarter and then hurt himself so came off so he looked like kicking a fairly large score but not to be! Very young B Grade side and very quick so they just ran the older Yankalilla side off there legs.

To Yanks Credit at least they stayed out there and tried all day. Was a long day for the Tigers but the Under 14s match was a beauty with Yank being up by 3 goals at 3 quarter time only to fall behind with a couple of minutes to go in the last. Yank then got the lead back and won by 5 points was a great game of junior footy in wet, trying conditions!
