You still pulling them in Carey? How many points can a club have down there?

Have heard numbers of around 20-27 being available to clubs in the Mallee, this is unconfirmed at this stage, but if correct, then the points system is a joke, & more to the point the CFB is a bigger one! We all understand the Mallee is in trouble, so dont use the system at all ](*,) Now everyone's going to jump up & down & say "Oh that makes our players zero pointers" to neighbouring leagues, but the greater thing to remember here is, that every other league in the state is then essentially zero pointers to you guys aswell. Why is SANFL or CFB affilliation so important, I bet the players dont give a crap

i believe peake get 20-22 points this year but not 100% sure. BUT if you look at the big picture peake are 2 hours from the CBD with a population of about 50 people and have got 8 of the last 11 woodern spoons is that not just to get 20+ points?

Have heard that the CFB not at all happy with the proposed points system for the Mallee league.A fair bit of lobbying going on from the RMFL against it. You would think this should have been well in place prior to clubs doing their recruiting.

i heard last night from a reliable source that CFB hav cut the points back due to a lobby from neighbouring leagues;
13 BDT
15 LAMEROO,PINNAROO
18 KAROONDA (were 25)
21 MURRAYVILLE,PEAKE (were 25)

has this put peake an especially karoonda over on there points, going by sportingpulse an presumed carry over points

While I agree with the cut back of points, being involved with a neighbouring club, I find it bizarre that teams who have already recruited, based on an allocated number of points, will be cut back now.

What does this mean for players teams have recruited who are on contracts? I for one, after signing with a club and going through the whole clearance process, would hate to be told at this time of the year:
a) We don’t have enough points so you must leave, or
b) We will place you on a rotation to keep our points under.

Surely it’s better to implement the cut back for the 2012 season.

First post by the way, so g'day everyone.

"Fact"........ Because the Mallee league had applied for extra points, the CFB had to take it under consideration, that was done, & refused. If they have now came back, talked it through, & this is now the new points allocation (which I do not know for sure, just taking your word for it footyfreak), then proper procedure has been followed

If a club has recruited based on the first application thinking it was what they were going to get, then thats simply foolish.

Okay, that is a little more transparent.
I was assuming for the Community Football Board to "cut" point allocations, the application for extensions were approved in the first place. If they were not, like you say, then I’d agree with you.

Application was never approved to start with, which I am sure clubs were aware of, although they may have presumed it would get through. Will be interesting to see now whether the CFB has also refused to allow all of last seasons players to start at Zero points, which the Mallee league intends to do. If this is the case I would think 21 ponts that would allow 7 A grade recruits plus you might pick up one or two who fall outside the points criterior would be ample and is still well above the majority of leagues throughout the state. Still this should have all been in place months ago.

They are saying a Minimum of 25 games for the club, or a junior at any club is the only basis for 0 points across the state!!

Going by the clearance list i can only see Peake useing 11points + 4 carryover with a couple more to come(look out goldy)and karoonda 15 + some carry over and the rest of the clubs should be well under, peake also have richardsX2 freak, jacobs, morris macdonald, all -1 and will all play at some stage so all should be fine,
PS i agree 25 points was a joke, but with only 3 players attracting points comeing from the RMFL! whats all the sooking about??

If it's ben hall your talking about here, I played with him at flinders, not sure he has the technique for boundary umpiring! Should slot into the junior colts goal umpire rotation nicely though! He was a good bloke until he recently moved in with some karoonda lads, the bad influences appear to have led him astray. It's a real shame
