Your kidding yourself and the readers, its only money that would make them leave their home club period.
Because s bakers employer happens to sponsor kilburn means jack shit, are you suggesting he going to get fired if he doesn't play for kilburn?

I am not suggesting anything; I am telling you that the job he now has, has given him security and advancement opportunities
Something that we all need and in his case seeing he is getting married next year, and brought a house last year, security
Not all play JUST for money, Stirlo
There is other factors that come into play
Obviously you have never done any recruiting other wise you would know this
There is many factors in Baker leaving that has been written previously
And there is nothing in concrete yet, Dont worry if he decides to go to Kilburn, i will certainly let you know
But for some reason you can't grasp this, Just like if Taylor leaves Centrals, there are reasons and advantages to do so other than money.
Anyway why don't you guys go after Burford again, offer what you did when he played there before, and maybe you would get him again

Fair enough 151 you seem to know alot of intimate details about him.
All i know about s baker is when i've seen him down the pub with his mates he seems passionate about his football club and money would be main carrot for him to play Div 3 which doesn't come close the BLG competition for sporting atmostphere and entertainment.

King is a long time friend of Dawe and is a veteran of GC's so he may (or at least think he has) som say/pull around the club... And I dont think at this stage of his career he would be going anywhere...

I wouldnt think Hill or Hebs would have too much say/pull... And if King isnt going anywhere, then we can only assume you believe these two are talking to other clubs along with other players as you stated... Are we correct in thinking that???

Personally I think Dawe has too much to lose to let other people run his show, I think his time away from their club will be invaluable, he will be calling the shots...

Well aware of the King connection and personally think with 2 small kids and a wife that plays netty at the club, he wont go anywhere.

Hill / Hebs, no pull as i am aware, but valuable assets to the club... so they wil try to secure them... but my people tell me there are some players there that dont like the idea of Dawe (that's bound to happen) and therefore are happy with a "simple chat". Other news is that they are yet to secure Thomas & Howard (big players for the club last year)

Speaking of Dawes; Who's leading the race to secure the services of Mathhew Dawes; Freeling or Angaston? I guess it will be a case of who wants to cough up $800 a week?

The muppet show is at willaston not GC. Bert, Ernie and the gang on the hill do their best work bringing down their club brick by brick.

Dawe will run his own ship.. he beat alot of good candidates for the job on his own merit and coaching philosphy.

Bert and Ernie are from Seasame Street. They're not muppets.

Are they any good Stirlo? Didn't one win the medal out there? Is the other one as good?

They standout for willaston, but haven't really excited me when I watched them play against the tigers.

Sirlo i have to ask , has anyone played a decent game you have watched ?

You have extremely high standards for a Rugby Union man.

hafey hardness and tackling are a big part of football something that was taken from Rugby.

Kym Hermann played many decent games in my eyes, he would be a great asset to Dawe as a specialist coach.

**** me dead, I suggested Hermann and got laughed off this forum. What's the story, is he a troublemaker or not? Is he past it in terms of playing?

There's been a club in the hills league very interested and an amature club, we are hoping they can come to terms with GC and finish their careers in the tigers strip.

With no dis-respect Stirlo, from what I've heard K Herman has done his dash with most a GC's...

Plus I dont hink he can be considered as a role model to your young group...

Not only what he did in the Prelim final a few years ago, but reports of his lifestyle over the last year or two are not flattering!!!

He may have been good a few years ago, but not the right fit NOW! IMO anyway...

Which clubs are interseted in the 2 palyers previously mentioned?

One of these best players and leaders gawler central has seen in the past 10 years, not blessed with the flair but a heart bigger than phar lap. Premiership captain and 100+ game player at GC went on to be a playing premiership coach at hamley bridge.

Kym would be 30+ so his best footy is behind him but if you need a leader in your group then he's your man.

Whether or not people agree with the way he has run his personal life takes nothing away from his credentials as a football player IMHO!

Stirlo,

Not taking anything away from Kym as a player, hard to argue otherwise, and onfield he was a leader, your correct.

But that doesnt always translate to off-field leadership... Which is the point Im arguing...

And normally his personal life wouldnt be in question, but if he was brought back to your club, he would be setting an example for the young men at GC's. And whether its right or wrong, that teaching/leadership doesnt stop as soon as training or saturdays play is over. So how Kym would conduct himself is ALL important for the position you feel he should be selected for...

This isnt a slag at Kym, as I said I only heard of his behaviour, I have not seen it, but IF it were true, I would not want him to be a role model to my son if he were at GC's...

Just MHO....

Don't get me wrong Stirlo, he was a champion player and I suggested he would have the credentials to coach GC. But I've heard since then that when his knees couldn't keep up he used his fists.

Kym led his club to a premiership in 2001 and was a cult hero at the time. Yes he left and he is a colourful character (i have witnessed him on a footy trip with Hamley years ago). But loyal GC supporters / players would surely remember him for the right reasons... Brings a lot of know how orver and above the fact that success has follwed him a bit over his career...

news in... Brad James has officially put pen to paper in Clare and is said to bring 2 other BL&G players with him... One said to be a tall??? But not Spicer, as Burra are said to be pushing hard to secure him back. As well as the services of Boh Wall. There has been a lot of talk on Wall (so that is most certainly unconfirmed). MORE TO COME IN 25 MINS

last bit of news for the day - no confirmation on who James will take to Clare, time will tell...

But it is confirmed that GC's Brad Taylor asked another mail medalist from accross the state, "which club should i go to in the YP"??? during the lap of honour before the SANFL GF. Long story short, he put out the feelers that he was keen to try his luck on the YP... :?
