I understand there was an Encounter Bay player reported in the A Grade last week.. Does anyone know the outcome of this?

Association squad was pickd primarily by Simmo I am told; no coaches were asked for input and players who turned down the opportunity last year were not invited this year in the main - yes there may be a few exceptions to this.
Personally I'd like to see an Open Age Game and then maybe an u/23 side go at it, bugger the under 25 s***t. Instead play the best of the best - after all why copy a s***t comp like the SAAFL. Young players had their window of opportunity to play rep footy in the years leading to 25 so why cut out those who have played A'grade footy in the same/similar associations for years at a decent standard? I imagine the concept started due to the RMFL paid players refusing to play in association games so rather than invoke a penalty or instead supply incentive by way of making the game a major event they went with U/25s and the GSFL followed suit. At the end of the day the GSFL could send up 21 blokes with helmets on who sit in the back of the bus and lick the the windows all the way to the bridge and they'd still win. Actually you boys should just send your junior colts.
What a load of absolute dribble! I think you need to lay off the magic mushies your obviously picking from the forests in Mt Compass as you drive through to Encounter Bay!

What part exactly is dribble? The banter or the facts einstein? Your clearly not in a position to play rep footy are you champion.

A report in the GSFL? I thought their was no such thing anymore! Some of the things I have seen in the GSFL so far this season were worth 3 weeks minimum, I have seen allot of dirty play i.e.: charging, striking and the worst are the amount of elbows being thrown around. Scott Brown from the bay has already suffered a fractured cheek bone from one. The bays have one player I have seen throw allot of very dirty and loose elbows and fore arms around but only against smaller opponents.
When I was asking the question to a fellow by standee the other week I was told "The majority of the umpires in this league come from town and if they were to report someone then they are required to go down to victor to give evidence in the case one night during the week and they are not paid for this night." From some of the things I have seen and the umpire also has seen it because 50m penalties have been given I believe this statement is true.
If this league wants to continue to have the reputation of a quality league then they need to resurrect this problem now as its now getting out of the umpires hands and the matter will only get worse if left the way it is at present and will be known as a thugs league.

Word of mouth here but I am told the league is a lot more physical this season with a lot of incidents being overlooked.

You are obviously involved with the bays in some way TC, what do you think of a guy like Blummy throwing elbows around all day long against smaller opponents? I have seen it on a few different occasions against different sides and its not good to see.

Its easier for an umpire to give a 50 or a 5 minute send off than to rock up on Tuesday to give evidence, that is why it is very hard to get reported in this league at present. I think its also time that goal umpires (not all) got some balls and made reports if they happened to see an incident, even if it was someone from their own club.

Tips for this week (Round 2 of the McCracken Cup)

Willunga 100+
Bays 20 points
Victor 10 points
Strath 35 points
L Creek 60+

Going against yourself LF, that's not very confident! I think you should also change the first number from a 1 to a 2 for the margin of the Willunga V Yank game!

Thats not what im saying at all P32. Would anyone honestly get on here and just rant on about how good they think they are, we have our flaws like any other team and our own issues we need to get over, its Rd 5 the Creeks came out like this last season!!!! Im not going to defend myself again, being in the wet the game will take out our strength which is our height. Cook, Borlace, Koster can all get the footy as good as anyone. I hope we do flog them, but people talking 200 point wins is ridiculous.

i was in the club office last night and I managed to obtain a revised copy of the points system. It is basically the same as the original, however it looks as though they have DUMBED it down for certian clubs (Hi Strathablyn fans!!!). I also managed to grab the sheet that outlines what all the 'new' players at each club are worth. It was very interesting to see that now Burgess from Strath is 3 points. Looks as though the rules were broken. When will Strath be fined and lose their points from the first couple of matches?
