Waikerie have always had the advantage of being
that bit closer to the city when attracting players. Sometimes players just dont want to leave regardless of the figure, especially if they are already part of a successful club. Its not always about the money. They might knock back 800, but it doesnt always mean they have got a bigger offer from their home club. Its rarely black and white

Some of you Barossa guys are getting a bit defensive. And nowhere did I deny that Riverland clubs spend money.
Nowhere did I have a crack at the money you guys spend.
I was just pointing out that it is amusing/frustrating - depending on whether you are attempting to recruit or not.

hearin ya, DW, understand that your not having a crack. Some are getin defensive. I dont agree that there is poaching going on at the Zone Champs either. I reckon most of the stories are about 60% right. Have North got a coach yet. What happened with Mac. I would of thought he would of made an excellent coach.

Members of the 2009 Renmark premiership team. Try months ago - not years.

DW you have just admitted that a club in the Riverland offered a player $800 a week.

I would suggest that is at the upper limit of what gets paid in the Barossa. Maybe he just couldn't be arsed going all the way out there?

Sounds like the coin doesn't change that much.

Lazarus - that $800 mentioned is the extreme limit of player payments here from what I understand.
A very rare payment that would be.

I would suggest the same in the BLG.

Tanunda, BD, Waikerie, Renmark all have spent up big to celebrate centennaries(or BD just because they can).

Nope, North doesn't have a coach yet.
Anyone in the BL&G we should be talking to who might be interested?

Mac was a good coach but he didn't gel with every player. Not his fault, not the players' fauly - just life.

Yep and they use the zone championship weekend as their poaching grounds.

seems we may have flushed out a couple of poachers here. could be one of the blokes who lobs up to the carnival with a laptop tyring to look professional only to get their 700 plus hire car for satrudays laughed at.

Lets just say that the Freeling playing coach is getting OVER 25k..... Is that enough $$$ for you??? Plus they will pay 5 imports a reasonable amount too... Must be a bottom-less pit of $$$ out that way???
