Ok numb nuts, explain your way through this:
Two Wells 2349 people, median age of population 35
Balaklava 1627 people, median age of population 46
Virginia 1434 people, median age of population 38 (Only 13% Asian, 2gd4U)
Mallala 1033 people, median age of population 40
Hamley Bridge 783 people, median age of population 40
Pt Wakey + Lochiel 644 people, median age of population 46
United??
hey ace, if you are going to "quote" statistics can you reference them for me please, so that a bit of checking can be done. anyone can put in what ever numbers they want onto a forum. and by the looks of things you have just included the townships of pt wakefield and lociel, doesnt HWE have a larger zone than that. united are really the only club who can seriously play the population card (even though i dont think they need to), as for growth what happens when lewiston really takes off, the virginia grove comes to bare fruit and of course that marina thing at pt wakefield.
My apologies,
http://www.censusdata.abs.gov.au/ABSNav ... PL&topic=&
check away
And how can United be the only team that can play the population cardthe census data clearly shows that some clubs have up to 4 times the population in their immediate town than others. Two Wells for example should be able to fill 4 A grade teams with that population (
). And as far as growth, lets deal in cold hard data not on the possibility that a Marina may be developed in 10 years if it ever gets through planning approval...

Yeah but at least you don't have to worry about any court cases holding it up.

I believe that is not correct. A 'local' to any team can come from anywhere in the APFLs defined zone.

Correct, when I moved from Mallala to Balaklava I still played as a local as I qualified under the years of playing rule which also classed me as a local at the Pies even though I was living in Pt Pirie for a couple of seasons.

Not sure if thats 100% correct guys. Luke Spangas is classed as an import for us because he lives in town, even though he played a lot of junior and seniorfooty at Balak. He would be classed as a local for Balaklava, but like I said, cause he lives in town he is an import for us (worth every penny too).
