The fowards the bays had on sat did a great job and the midfeild and defence was outstanding but without a presence of a big man up foward who can out muscle and take a big pack mark it makes it very hard.

Although the margin was just under 5 goals the game was much closer than the score line suggests.

Come on Cuzzy I was not at the game Saturday as i was hoping to be, but after speaking to a few people they have all said Creek played terrible and copped a massive spray after the game because they were so bad! No way would bays be a top three side with just one new player, Bays have the best draw for the start of the season out of all clubs and the in there last five games are going to see them drop alot and may slip out of the top 5 (if they are in at this stage of the sweason) like 07?

Losing 2 games by under a kick and a third by few goals with 17 players running out the last quarter makes the Bays ordinary does it? No credit where it is due; apparently every loss the Bays have had has been due to the oppositions poor form on the day. This seems to be a common theme... maybe there's more to it....? At any rate looks like the Saints will be playing in the GF this year; I mean they did beat Yank.

As I have stated previously Bays have started alot better than I though they would and its a credit to them but you are yet to face Willunga and Strath. No doubt you guys are with Victor and Compass pushing for 4th and 5th spot.

I'm not who I have been touted to be so its no skin off my nose; I'm an innocent bystander on the outside looking in. I believe that the Bays smashed strath in round 17 last season by 8 goals? How much better are they in 08?

I don't remember admitting i hadn't, or don't play in the GSFL cuzzy?

Anyway, all games went as predicted by most on the weekend, Victor played out another close encounter with Pongy (can they keep this up?), the muddies seem to be a bit up and down lately. Bays suprised most people to get that close to the Creeks, Willunga demolished Compass and it is even harder to see a team beating them this year, Strath do look like there closer rival but do have a bit of work to do and the saints have finally got their season underway. The battle for 5th spot is ging to be a beauty!

Have played footy for 3 clubs, one was South Adelaide and the other two are in separate leagues. I follow South Adelaide and Adelaide  There's plenty of people out there that will talk honestly about their clubs situation and the league, the more people you know, the more knowledge you are going to gather.

so if your saying you have played in the GSFL or are still playing, what club do you belong to. Your above posts, dont make any sense.

The association squad looks interesting this year. We had a good joke on Saturday about it. Trent Griffen (who no doubt has talent) was close to been dropped to the B's after a poor start to the year then his name crops up in the squad. Normally our A grade coach would give his opinion but no one asked him this year. The most disappointing thing is the fact that our 4 guys dont really seem interested.

The Under 25 concept doesnt allow a lot of the better players in the comp to play. THey allow 5 guys over 25 but really lets pick the best side. IF they want age limits make it so they have to play a certain number of guys under 22 or something, 5 or 6 would be plenty, then if they're good enough they will get picked anyway.

Id be interested to know what peoples thoughts on association footy, how the squad looks which i will post up here maybe tomorrow when i get the list.

Do we like it? Do we want the conceot changed? No Southern Districts side so no carrot on the end for a good performance.

What would your association side be if you could pick the best side possible from GSFL?

I am actually coaching the u15's this year and personally loved playing association footy as a colt. I still remember the boat ride to Penneshaw to play KI. We run amok, but still played some good footy. I think the problem with capping the age limit it takes the prestige out of it. Players are getting picked who are not necessarily the best going around. Shouldn't it be the best of the best?

My association side (bloddy hard!)

Fromm, Ryan, Eagleton

Hill, Hams, Saunders

Haskett, Hodge, Burdett

Griffen, Henstke, Love

Dellatore, Golding, Bailey

Rucks: Steele, Portlock, R.Follett: Int From: Thomas, Dobson, Sanders, Maxfield, H.Wilson, T. Follett, Milburn, Jaques, Pegler, and others

No Wes Glass LF? Four state country guernseys and not good enough for to make the GSFL's top team?

It's funny that the GSFL has dominated the RMFL with the U25 + a few sides in recent years, but the last time they lost ('03 I think?) was the last time they selected a best of the best team.

Hows the big dog Neil Reeve travelling for Victor?? The guy has a stack of ability but is a real confidence player. When confident he can rip a game apart.

Association footy should only be played by local players and not so the so called imports or paid players. This would generate more interest as the local boys would be more likely to put up their hands to represent the association .Most clubs would loath to see their paid players running around in a game that means nothing to them and risk a season ending injury
