Interesting Import allocations for 2009

HWE 4
Mallala 5
Balaklava 5
United 5
Two Wells 6
Hamley 7
Virginia 7

So there is a down side to snaging a premiership :D

Looks like HWE are the only club to lose an import, every one else appears to be the same as last year

Apparently based on last 4 years performance, % of winning games will determine your import "allowance".

reckon Seccas will knock off Fitzgerald for the top job?

I hear Fitzy has the job - Cheeky may have an involvement at senior level as well. He did express an interest in getting more involved now that both his lads finished junior footy.

This new rule doesn't take that into account it seems. For example if Virginia win the flag this coming season their winning % of games wont rise high enough to get past the 6 import level. Small impost for winning a flag, Hamley or Two Wells would be similarly affected, maybe loosing 1.

On the other side, if HWE had a crap year and only won a few games I doubt their 4 year winning % would drop them down enough to get another import.

Food for thought ....

both you guys are in a minority as both united and the eagles are really the only 2 with any grounds to refer to population.
hopefully it wont see the death of either of these 2 clubs!

especially in the eagles case the larger town clubs will be laughing at them and thinking of how smart they are by getting rid of that clause!

i think i can say adam wallachek (spelling could be out), matty paul and nathan solly will be out at TW this year.

wally, strong centreman who plays hard and is not afraid to rattle a few bodies, CDFC junior.
matty paul, SAAFL medalist and club champion (twice i think) 6'1 with a huge leap.
solly, great pair of hands 6"5 maybe, good tap ruckman.
will change the side a bit with those guys in there.
and i think a couple from modbury's A grade could be on the way as well.

Nope no-one from EP has signed at Two Wells. I am aware that one is possibly talking due to having a relation involved at the club but thats as far as it has gone.

Talk it up Burg, As i said Solly retired from A grade. Walasek and paul haven't signed anywhere. You are talking them up so much people will want to sign them.....

Nothing wrong with talking it up Burg. Solly is a nice guy too. Came into our club for a beer after the game. Brought some drongo along with him though.

Sorry mate, old habits die hard. They do feed us very well for any APFLers wanting to join the mighty Chics! What other club do yet get a choice of schnitzels, steak, stir fries, pasta and more after training!

Thats interesting Jumbo. Does this mean that the constitution or by-law has changed? I thought that only the clubs could make changes to these at the League AGM. Has the AGM been held yet? I havn't spoken to anyone for a while so I'm not sure when this is or was.

Can the clubs over-ride this if the League AGM is still to be held? Maybe I'll head up to United's AGM tonight to find out (rather not though cause sitting in the pub all night is rather appealing).

I think you're right there Fester, in that us and Hummocks are the most disadvantaged in regards to population.
