Surely a club in that situation should at least advertise and see what is available before re-signing a bloke that hasnt really set the world on fire. Are things really that tight over the bridge?

Can't keep turning blokes over! Hopefully everyone down at the Bridges of hamley county have some form of plan in place, and maybe that involves Burgess?

But i sort of agree, but at some point you need some stability also.

you were right before, not massive news because who's McCormack when he's at home, sounds like the only thing he's done is pull on a jumper in a team of experienced finals players and got himself a trophy, then glass one of the Members.
should probably go back to where he came from, maybe they go in for that sort of caper!

I think United will be having the biggest clean out, as they really need to start looking further forward than just next year.

Vandenburg, Cockatoo, Mansfield, Schubert, Dalgleish, Quinno, would all be 30+ and past thier prime.
Im sure Heath Pym will bring a few players with him back from Eagles next season, so that may be exactly what they need.
Has Shayne Broad re-signed to coach next season yet MC? Thats important also, given Shimmer, Taylor are good mates with Braody.

Apparently United have finished their recruiting for next season! All import spots filled!

Stability is important. Has developed many young lads into A Grade footballers. Has complete respect and support from the club and players. Has done the best he could with limited resources and players over last three years. Next year things will not be so limited and I am glad he stuck around.

Flemington race 8 Littorio. Get on it Swamp, he's gonna end Weekend Husslers run & he's paying $11 at present!

Littorio!! Did you get on it Swamp? Did any of you blokes? Paid handsomely at $9.20!

Bays over Doggies by 4pts (please, please, please!!!)

Ben Mules - Jack Oatey

Both Gowans knocked out!!

Greg Belcher & Graham Cornes to finally come together & embrace after a fued that has lasted since the mid 80's.

& Lurch & Truss to have their membership revoked at the celebrations back at Brighton rd!!!

Well none of those tips came true god damn it!! And the Belcher/Cornes fued has actually got worse from all reports. The Belch was seen stumbling around Bay oval on sunday night telling anyone who woul;d listnen about how Graham cut short his career at Brighton road for diciplinary reasons & left him stranded on 9 reserves games. This is all second hand news but he was last seen being escorted out by security then ripped up his membership in the foyer!!! Very sad if true.

Francis - Are the Burgess boys locals this year? excellent to see the the club showing stability in his re-appointment. There is obviously a plan in place for him to be the next premiership coach, do you think this is far away? I seen young Appleton play at centrals this year on a number of occasions, if the likes of him can return one day to bolster the young list, success may not be far away.
Are you prepared to pay the price? WILL YOU PAY THE PRICE?

No god damn it! It was paying $13 fixed the morning of the race on sportsbet. But I was on Pompeii Ruler so I got my money back for the place. Hopefully the Hussler can bounce back, I think he needs a week off for sure and probably a better barrier draw in the Caulfield Cup.

Princess Coup to win the Cox Plate!

Yes Duke they are locals next year which helps. Yes if Appleton and Justin Schahinger (Eagles U19 Ruck) can return soon that would make a huge difference. I suspect we may not see too much of Appleton next year as he is still young enough for juniors and is carving up down there, but we may see a bit more of Schahinger.

Cant even mention the P word mate (it only seems like yesterday), we just want to get some quality recruits so we can be competitive every week, rather than now and then. The foundation is more or less there but just need a bit of luck regarding unlucky injuries (eg: L.Pratt, R.Savage, A.Natt) and a few quality players as icing on the cake.

I'm guessing you may have been a fan of GB Jumbo?. I never had the pleasure of seeing the great man play. If you did however, i would love to hear about how he went. A few conflicting stories i've heard so far.
I agree, Cornes is a goose!! He was wearing a white suit on Sunday......

Picture this - a young, fit, quick, skilled, slim kid  who put as much into his footy then as he does his drinking now ...... I am struggling to remember too much - it was a long time ago. We never saw the best of him at Two Wells - he had lost interest by the time he was a regular at the club supporting. Never stopped following the Bays though - never could figure that one out.

Probably would have gone on if not for Cornes ..... should have moved to Sturt instead ....

A white suit - not one bit surprised there - clothes DONT make the man - he is still 60 plus and a goose.
