Scotty McArdle did exactly what Visser did, but did it for ten or more years. For you to take out of that list the most dominant forward in this comp for a 10-15 year period is a crime. I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone else that agrees with you Donkey in that Scotty wasn't in the top ten players in that period.

Most people would easily have him in their top 3.

So if the same Q was asked about the AFL Buddy Franklin or Gary Ablett Jnr wouldnt be in yours MC?

Visser was a long shot and really a load of crap, I was just in a pain-in-the-arse mood and thought id stir the pot

Still dirty about the september 20th choke mate.........

generally around this time of the year clubs know whether the coach is staying or gone....haven't seen any jobs advertised in this league yet. Wondering whether clubs are just taking their time or all happy with the current guys....

i saw that hummocks were advertising for a coach with 3 weeks to go
current coach Jaz Wilson finished on a high by winning the premiership
however pretty doubtful he would want to coach again

Maybe Hummocks will tell him no-one applied so he feels he has to do it again.

Will anyone from within the club put their hand up to do it?

Do you start training in November boozehound. Hummocks is genuinely one of those clubs with little interest in people coming from outside to run the show. They could almost coach themselves anyway.

you would be tempted to try that again but think he has had enough....for now

true that they could almost coach themselves
disagree about the outsider thing though
reckon they would take anyone from anywhere if they are suitable
dont you think if there was a local they wouldve done it this year?

Yeah but football is turning into a mercenary's business and would Hummocks be willing to pay out the bucks most coaches expect? It would also be a risk if the coach decided that he wanted to run things differently, it could affect the current unity of the club.

How are Hummocks planning on replenishing their playing stocks. A few key players would be coming to the end of their careers in a couple of years. Is some recruiting on the cards or does the next mob of colts look promising. It will be hard to replace the calibre of Jazz, Brahamy, Youngy etc.

Hard to replace….HWE lost Brad Valentine (State Country player), Joel Wilson (State Country player), Paul Chivell (Assoc Player) and Dillon Catford (Assoc Player) from last years side, had no A Grade recruits this year and won the premiership. Bout time you gave the young ones a bit of respect mate.

Easy tiger, was just asking the question. I also did ask whether the younger players looked promising. You have still managed to sneek in a couple of handy recruits over the last couple of years in Light, Barnes, McCormack  .
