What are Cameron Faulkner's plans for next year? Will he stay up north? If he's down here my mail has him at Kilburn with Searle.

This will be the third year in a row that Searle has gone to Kilburn, seems as he also works up North I think it will be unlikely all round.

Searley signed with Kilburn but couldn't get cleared last year. I believe there was a contract which may now have expired.

I don't think we'll be seeing Willy playing for quite some time sorry boys. Poor bugger had an operation on a bulging disc in his back. Might miss a couple of years, but I'm sure he'll bounce back.

Surgery or a bulging disc? That's a bit extreme, sure it wasn't herniated?

All I know is he had a bulging disc and had to have it operated on.

I've got a couple of bulging discs in my lower back and they're not fun but never even considered surgery. Usually about 8 weeks off footy if you do everything right. I know a Sturt player just came back after only a month out with the same problem but I think Nathan Bock had almost a year of with one early in his career. Guess it depends on the severity.

Should see him back this way then. Isn't he a concreter? Would be hard to do that with a screwed back. Hopefully he bounces back quickly from it.

Willy spent about 5 weeks in hospital. If he was up to playing football next year then that would be great for him, but personally I have my doubts if he will be able to. He has to look after his health first. Anything after that is a bonus. I know us Tigers are just hoping he can get himself healthy with no further hiccups. He SHOULD NOT be PRESSURED into playing football by ANYONE including US!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Maybe he could take up umpiring and be a double act with his old man, wouldn't teams look forward to copping Searle and Searle umpiring at an oval near you.

i think your confusing bulging disks with stress fractures shrekkie (pars defect of the L5 vertebrate), I know Bock definately suffered from this rather than bulging disks.

Willys was a lot more serious, he managed to get golden staff infection within his blood while he was in hospital for his back problem and has since dropped 14+ kilos.

Like MC said unfortunately his only worry should be about his health.

Yeah but he was still supporting Hamley on the day though FGH  . There wasn't much in the sledge at all, if I get it wrong Droppie may be able to help but it went something like this....

Boyfriend of a Hamley supporter/netballer - "No. 2, you're sh!t have you had a kick yet?"
Antony - "Pretty tough yelling out from the sidelines, stay there and don't move spots when the siren goes because I'm gonna smash ya!"

Nothing in it that we havn't all copped at least at somestage (some get it weekly) in a season. I agree it was pretty funny to see him change shirts

Not to defend the in-defensible, but i would think if you had the Brass to heckle someone, you would have the brass to cop it if they came at you.

I realise it happens every week, but if your not prepared to cop a clip, keep your mouth shut and your opinions to yourself, there are a few blokes that don't need much fuel to ignite!

You guys can't be serious! Obviously one-eyed I may be, but Scott McArdle??? Puuhlllease!!!! Matt Oliver has had so much more influence on the comp than him! I bet you weren't expecting me to say that! Surely premierships, and influence in the games that matter, are what shows a player's true worth! And credit where it's due, in Balak's back to back years of 99 and 00, he was worth every penny. Since then however, one Jared Wilson would have a record comparable with the greats of most competitions I'm sure! Five premierships now, BOG in 2001 GF, premiership captain in 2003, playing premiership coach in 05, 06 and now 08, including Saturday's Lazarus-like effort to return in the second half and win the game for the Eagles despite what looked like a game-ending (if not career-ending) knee injury. Another chapter was written Sat'dy lads, I just hope it isn't the last one! I still remember the GF in 06 when the Peckers were coming at us, and we just needed one more goal to keep them at bay, and the ball ended up in Jazz's hands in front of the scoreboard at Mallala, and just when we needed him he stepped up and delivered. There's some blokes you want to have the ball in that situation, and he is first in my mind. I had to apologize to him after the game that I couldn't give him the congrats he deserved out on the field, I was done! Pretty hot that day!

And you have a dig at Moon Unit for being biased when selecting Scott McArdle. Come on mate! In my opinion I would rate Brahamy higher than Jazz. Not saying Jazz isn't top class, but Brahamy works harder. Matt Oliver definately up there, along with Todd Thorne and Nathan Schubert.

Sorry Droppie, pretty sure I said I was the one being biased??!! I just didn't rate his selection! Like I said, I was using premierships (note the plural) as a qualifier, and everyone knows United FC have been the biggest under-achievers in that regard, especially considering the coffers available, and used. Point taken on Brahamy, no one works harder than him, as was the case Sat'dy, but as far as football talent goes (which I think was the original question), Jazz has got him covered. It was no coincidence that the only GF the Eagles have lost in their recent run was when he was OS. Having said that, if you had 18 little fellas out there every week, you wouldn't lose too often. You wouldn't want the ball in the air much though! :)

Of course, not all great players are premiership players so certainly Boo Eddy (who towelled me up one day at Wakey), and Cheeky Seccafien deserve a mention. I'm not sure if Cheeky wasn't a premiership player, he was around for a long time before I was playing senior footy! Didn't the Wells win one in the 80's? He was probably involved in that? Can anyone confirm?
