He's been approached, or he's signed?

He's a gun no doubt, but would be ideal as a support to at least one big bodied forward - they'd need a chf to help get it down to him.

sumner is a good footballer, but has too many injuries though. get him injury free, you have got your self a quality footballer who can play eaither foward or midfield.

True a big foward would be very handy for Tailem. If Tailem do get Sumner and Muffy they will have the best midfield in the RMFL, not to mention Hogarth, Bell and Radis.

I do believe you will see a new and improved Michael Sumner in 2009 if he goes to Tailem. He will be fit and he will be ready for round 1!!!!!

Tailem need to secure a big forward, there is no doubt about that.

In all honesty though, I really think they can make a big move and be really comepetive in '09. Midfield is solid, some good players running through there. Matty Dent vowing to get fit and play next year could have an impact, even if he did the Corey Smelt trick and not leave the goal square even for the quater time break.

Matt McLeary is rumoured to return, no clearance needed, Muffy back at home, Sumner joining his mates at the Eagles, young local talent all looking to step up, like Matt Kruger, 50 senior games and only just 18, Dylan Hogarth, League best U21, those tall twins from out there, could be a big year for them. Recruits returning such as Patt Gabb, Mitch Vickers, Radar, Bell, Tony Lynch and Robertson, who is a gun, Tailem are buliding a list nicely at this stage.

If Ben Hansen and Daniel Gregory didn't get games with Sturt's under 18's and played some games for TB they would be very handy as well.

That's a good point, with the new U18s structure I think maybe Hansen may get pushed outta the team and be playing back at home. I remember watching a game in 07 at Mannum where Hansen and Hogarth played for a win-less Tailem Bend in a Sturt bye and Tailem looked like a different side with a bit of spark. I think both lads polled Mail Medal votes that game, aged 15 and 17 respectively.

The new Mannum coach had an artical in Tuesday's Standard. Wonder if they will do the same thing for the other Clubs. Mentioned that no-one is leaving as yet & that Quinny is the Assistant coach. There were rumours he was off to the Mallee to coach Lameroo. Guess that fell through

Well they have an ex AFL player as a coach (could be a good start)... has anybody seen the size of him lately, doesn't look like he is just getting rubbed down with vanilla slices anymore... haha

LOL perhaps a typo, although the "a" & "i" keys are quite a way apart on my keyboard too  Like most players who made a profession out of it, they have a rather tough battle with the jelly after retiring from the big smoke, he's certainly no different! haha

Coached Ardrossan last year I think, & from what others have said on here was a pretty usefull full forward. The standard said he has a decent record of bringing juniors through the ranks, so who knows.
