Oh for the people out there who doubt our junior development etc the kids that came up on Saturday in a big game Williamson, Andrewartha and Toone all performed well and should hold there spots. Great games in the B grade by Damo Carr, Scotty Groom, Shaggers and a couple of other 'youngsters' at the club has certainly got the big boys on there toes and knowing theres a bit of pressure on spots can only be a good thing!!

Does anything ever go wrong at Demonville? They are all very good players BJ that would just about walk into any other A grade side in country footy!

That's awesome to hear..from an EB side of things anyway, sorry LF. Did Alex end up going around again LF?

Yeah alex played on the weekend, rucking in tandem with John Jared. It was good watching Jenks, because he was under the pump all day but came out on top. It suprised me about not only the taps he won but what he did around the ground.

You'll be 60 before tough times start at Willunga...Suprising that Mclaren are not up to scratch this year having been top 3 in just about every junior/senior colts premiership for the last 5 years (along with Strath and Willunga).

Not true Damian but it would be nice. Clubs go in cycles, i just hope people havent forgotten that in the early part of this decade we were known as 'chokers', lost 3 GFs in a row and a Prelim where talent didnt meet effort and we learnt from these lessons and experiences. A lot of hard work and dedication goes into success and along with a bit of luck weve been fortunate enough to have some good times.

Strath v Langhornes Friday is gonna be a belter. Does it kick off at 6? With the forecast of some rain about the place that may nullify some of Straths pace and bring the creeks right into the game. The creeks caused a lot of stoppages over the weekend whether it was the plan to shut us down or not ive never played in a game where there were so many stoppages. They have good extractors in Warren, Dellatore (who looked at home on the ball), Follett and Hill and if big James can get on top in the ruck the Creeks are a real shot!

Are the Saints just taking a bit of time to gell LF? Would have thought you guys would of been quitely confident on the weekend.[/quote]

Players like fennel , coote , fox , bilney , bunbar and others haven't suited up for the saints yet . Was pudneys first game of the year including trials, but yes WOW saints should have beaten bays on the weekend . Quite a bit of pressure building on the coach to get the side performing the way it shoulb be , this weeks game against willunga will be a great test of their resolve .

The top 4 (Willunga Strath Creek Compass) most people agree on, which leaves 5th spot so Popey will need to get them going soon. Any idea when these guys will be back?

I'd be starting to question 3rd and 4th spot now, i know compass are 2-0 and Creeks are 1-1 with a loss to Willunga but they haven't been to convincing.

Saints have Willunga this week, gueesing most of those guys won't risk coming back against them!

I have just had a very interesting talk with a high profile football identity and it seems Curran and his fellow president of the SFL and Hills has pulled Southern out of the State Country Championships due to being p*ssed of by the SANFL trying to have more input into all country leagues. The SANFL will win either way and will show this by playing their pick of players form GSFL, SFL and Hills in a Kangaroo Island Team for the state championships. Sir Barry Pilmore has agreed to coach the side.

Interesting times ahead for the Southern Districts zone side. With Barry, sorry, Sir Barry coaching the side that would mean Tony Fielke must be coaching somewhere else. South East perhaps??

Am I reading this right?? No Southern Districts in the State Champs but KANGAROO ISLAND?? Coached by BARRY PILMORE?? With GSFL players eligible to don the KI jumper??

That's the most erotic thing I've read since the sealed section of the mrs Cosmo...

Well the River Murray league aint part of the Southern zone anymore if the rumours I've heard are true. So that would mean Fielke couldn't coach Southern. Fair enough to given how many clubs are in the Southern Zone compared to others.

And on the dummy spitting league officials - who's best interests are they serving by pulling out of the comp?

Big Dummy Spit!

Choosing not to field a team on behalf of every player. I'm tipping the players don't care what leagues make up the zone as long as they get a crack to play

They are only thinking of themselves and their positions, that is why they don't like the SANFL interferring, they want to control their respective leagues, even if its not in the best interest of the players, communities and clubs.

BJ, could you please give me and I am sure others who use this forum a brief on this new forward of yours, Ryan. He certainly has made an impact and must be great to play with. Where and at what level has he played previously?

Has spent time at Essendon don't think he ever got a guernsey but the games I saw him play at Cove against a quality full back were more than impressive! Seemed to be able to snag goals with 2 guys on his back.
