Barry Dawson needs an easy training so he can be ready for 2up tomorrow morning.
Barry Dawson will be drinking a lot of Cougar tonight.
Barry Dawson plans to vomit.

Paringa Colts have officially forfeited their match against Cobdogla tomorrow.
A real shame to see one of the most successful teams in the Riverland over the past 40 years struggling to field a side.
They've won 50 percent of premierships since the Colts comp was introduced.

Making a point there Barry? ;)

But, yes, that is sad. I agree. Not good for Independent football either.
Where have all the players gone?

About five to Renmark, and lots of the aboriginal lads are playing for Lyrup.
In my opinion, wasn't enough done in the off-season to:
a) secure a coach when the last one told them in July he wasn't doing it again, and
b) make sure the players were sticking around.

All it would have taken was a phone call to each of the players.

paringa colts not fielding a side is massive, effects the whole colts competition, i know of one coach who is dissapointed, not only that he only gets to play 3 games in a row once but its a major kick in the guts to the comp

Surely once the bad news of a forfeit gets around - those that've traditionally been involved at Paringa will get involved and make sure it happens....I can't see Paringa's pride allowing them to not have a colts side.

It's all about who's running the show out there though.
He is part of the reason a lot of A graders left the club in droves.
Not saying he is wholly to blame but the buck has got to stop with the pres.

But you're right Crushinator, lose Paringa and the competition goes downhill.
Same if one of the other sides dropped out as well.

Word going around now is that they are going to fill a side tomorrow with Barmera under 15s or something.
I know they've got 10 or so kids already, plus some Barmera guys and they might get 18.
Still, it's only a quick-fix for tomorrow, they really need to find some more of their own players and fast.

What's the Pres done wrong? If he was that bad...wouldn't someone else have taken over?
I see he's been named for tomorrow....

Well it's basically only him and the secretary left.
Others have left the committee since he's taken over and although they've done a fair bit of fundraising off the field, not enough work has been done to ensure on-field success.

Barry

The Renmark 2nds looking pretty sharp at the moment, should be a good match on the weekend against Waikerie?

Had a good win last week, but still got a bit of work to do I reckon (especially me!)
We play Waikerie in two weeks I think...
Barmera-Monash look to be the team to beat in the 2s at the moment.

Yeah - I was surprised Waikerie lost by so much in that game. Not like the Maggies to get that sort of belting. And there was a few handy names in their best players too....

Waikeries lack of depth may bite them later in season, they were not all that impressive in the A's

DW how are you boys shaping up for the weekend?

We're looking okay.
No predictions - but we'll go ok.

We've apparently lost a player with a broken shoulder, not sure how he did that.
The weekend's loss, and also the fact that its Shane Schulz's 200th game for Wunkar will give them plenty to get up for.
So whatever happens, we won't be taking it easy.

Going to either of the games tomorrow Bertie?

Thought about the cobby v paringa match but will be too 1 sided coby by 15? goals. loxton v loxton n should be a good game in both a's and b's. Not sure how long LN can afford to have tschirpig and c wooldridge running around in the early game, 2 handy footballers (touch old, but who isn't).

Captains game on sat with your boys should be a good day, but i think you should be far too strong for Wunkar. Might come for a look

If North get the blokes back that rumour is suggesting, they'll be able to afford to keep Wolly and Tschirp down there.
To be honest, I'm not sure if Tschirp would offer too much more - from all reports the man has conceded his body can't take it. Might be a good forward target if he did play though.

As for captain's day, that's not until later in the season - round 17.

Who you involved with Bertie?

Anzac Day matches:

A Grade:
Loxton completed a white wash of Loxton North today - winning all three matches, after winning U13s and U15s on Saturday.
In the A grade, North led at half time by two goals, ended up losing by 10 or so goals.
Jamah Liddle finished game up forward and was prominent in last half. Ash Montgomery at half back was BOG.

Independents:
Reportedly Paringa took it up to Cobdogla for most of the match, but ran out of legs. The reigning premiers getting up by about 40 points.

Also Daniel Proud returned from Westies to play yesterday.
No appearances by Lewis or Kaesler.
Was that just a one off for Daniel?

Tschirp's may offer a better target up forward than their pickup from BMFC, Wooly too classy not to be playing A's even if getting on a bit.

Rover boys play for Paringa?, may be missing for the next couple of weeks if the rain forecasted today happens.

I love football in general but have a interest in BMFC

Ha ha ha - funny you should say that about Davis....that's what I noticed last night.

That's pretty standard for the Rover boys. They'll be back at the right time of the year though....sadly ;)
