Postman you're a bloody tosser mate. It blokes like you that make it fun to leave the front gate open during letter delivery time so that my Rotty gets fed.
I seem to remember our top A grade side (McLaren South) in the GSFL last year towelled up Morphies who were supposed to be No Uno in the SFL, this would indicate to me that the GSFL is a better more even comp than the SFL. From where I sit some of your top B grade sides would have knocked over the bottom A grade side, Gee that makes for a great comp. Now you should start to see why Dale and Steve and Russell have gone to McLarens.[/quote]

Some would think 5 in a row there is no comp
Maybe McLaren can lose the GF to Willunga next year, bit of variety I guess.

Raptor Boy.
South U/17 does not exist anymore. So no.
Development squad Coach... yes
I am pretty sure that Brad was involved with the South Juniors last year.

It would appear that Brad was a bit unlucky not to get a job at McLaren.

Mclaren South is one of the Eagles' comedy gold lines regarding there much better rivals Willunga. Some of their finest work. Weve heard them all before but in reality they will always be Willunga North, altho then that would bring the Willunga name down a little.

Mr Magoo....

That's how I first read the McLaren South thing too... I thought Power Ranger was saying South, as in South Adelaide and I was thinking there is no South Adelaide U17's...... but then I realised that he meant Willunga !!!

I find it hillarious actually that people are saying McLaren South, Willunga North

I agree BJ, Willunga shouldn't be called McLaren South, it's more appropriate to call them Aldinga East.
You know it makes sense

Once again Brocky, weve heard them all before. Sadly the results of late are very much like Aldinga so maybe Aldinga North East would be the more appropriate call at this point in time \:D/

So weve met the coach, when do we start preseason? Will Steve Hill recruit. I know Hart has contacts about the place so i do see Mclarens moving up the ladder thats for sure. The tough pre season will see them run the games out a lot better and if Hilly can add some size at both ends of the ground and a couple of good mids to compliment guys like Smith x 2, Kahl and Schneider finals would be on the agenda.

Hi BJ,

From what the coaches said at the 'meet the coach' night training will start late January... however.... players need to turn up to this first training already fit or they may 'suffer' when they jump straight into the training regime.

So basically the onus is on the players to get themselves fit, also means that pre-season doesn't interfere with summer activities, work etc and I suppose we'll see who really puts in the commitment and gets themselves fit ready to start.

I think that approach is a great idea, and a bit different than some of these I've been reading about that start in late October etc.

The vice presidents are great sponsors of our club..... and especially in the juniors, they are always there for us if we need that 'little extra' help or something special for our juniors, such as the pasta night they put on for the kids the Thursday before the grand final. Great stuff.

So yes, not surprised the golf day was a great success and I'm so glad to hear you had such a good time.

So what is there role down there i took it as a footy club thing whereas all the money raised went back into the club eg.paying players, coaches, the old bit here and there to keep things going. You make it sound like they hold on to it and give out a little bit when needed a free feed for the kids isnt enough surely they do more then that. They would of made plenty on friday. :?

They do a hell of a lot around the club.

So to tell you the trugh Know All... I'm not exaclty sure what the Vice Presidents is/how it's run. I know that they are a major sponsor of the Junior Club.

Friday may well have been exaclty what you say a 'footy club' thing where the money will go towards those things, and perhaps the VP's were just running it on the clubs behalf.

But I know they do a lot more than 'just give out a little bit when needed a free feed for the kids'.

But yeah, not sure of the ins and outs of it all.

O:)

Sorry for being so vague.... maybe the other McLaren people can give you a better answer :)

The Vice Presidents do a significant amount for the club, several years ago wen the lights were put in at the oval the VP's put a significant amount into that. and weneva the club need them they are there to help out. They have several fundraisers through the year to raise money for the club. With the new plans for the club rooms taking place, i no the VP's are going to help out an extreme amount there to!!!

At the moment the VP's will put up most of the initial capital for the club improvements. But that aint going to happen unless we get some plans on the table and some grant applications in

From all the post ive read about the VP commitee it sounds like a very well organized bunch of supporters who are putting alot back into the club.Fantastic :D .With a ground swell of support like this renovations of your club and the appointment of one of the best coaches in the south coaching i would say Mclarens are on there way up in more ways than one. :D

Will the McLaren players be ready for a really hard pre season?

With the coach coming from Morphett Vale and the success they've had i would assume alot of that success comes from hard work on the track. Getting a good base fitness for the first game.

Just wondering if they will no what hit them come first training?

From the vibe around the club Mr Goodkat and total honesty from the new coaches I think you'll find that the players know exactly what they're in for and that they're going to have to put in the hard yards to get the rewards that come with that.

There is a lot of enthusiasm around the players at the club.
