Great to see Myponga do the right thing & clear Huebner even though he did sign a contract and the club had the right to hold him =D> . Still no sign of Heathy being cleared though. "Observer" may be able to update us on this situation. Linc Rogers and David loots leaving will also hurt pongys depth but they may have found some more quality kids which is good for the future.

Toughcall a few "youngsters" will be playing this weekend with some changes in the A grade so this weekend we will have about 4-5 guys 20 or under suiting up for the late game.

WOW pardon my ignorance, but where are Huebs and Linc heading, back to Happy Valley or elsewhere?

yeah numbers on thursday were great, 52 blokes at training, including 3 senior colts. Bays traveling well, lots of local talent and young blokes that will be at the club for a long time. B grade sitting top after round 1, haha

Thats great if you can get 50+ to a training how many other clubs have numbers like this I know Strath, Creek and Wllunga do but never thought the Bays would!

I think its lisa. We used to joke about who would have the balls to hook with timmys sister but no one was keen to find out how Heathy would take it.

That is great BJ and it will make a few parents very happy and good for the club. Don't want to cause a vacuum. Great development for the boys to play alongside such great players.

Panther what club are you from? I'm not sure I follow your point? I was simply stating that prior to my time on this forum there were posts about Encounter Bay playing locals and senior colts first etc. From where I stand this is a good thing, then they appear to be on the path of doing this and your on here telling me they're not? Maybe the players mentioned that are being cleared to the club are only going to play cameo roles throughout the season; if this is the case I reckon it would be good for the locals to play with league listed footballers when given the chance don't you? You seem to be somewhat of an expert on a couple of leagues, possibly you can pick an opinion and stick to it; maybe even give some clubs like Encounter that you have a grife with a call as I think all clubs need to know where they can improve.

Thank god for the Anzac Day clash, the public holidays means I can catch my first game of footy for the year and head to Strath; who wil get up by a kick.

So basically your saying you will play local kids until the weekends that your imports can play and then your locals that have done the preseason and all the hard work will get pushed back to the B grade? How is that going to help them? I'd say your clutching at straws here TC...

Hang on a minute, what do you mean 'you'? Bloke I have no say in the matter but from your posts its clear you have some sought of beef with the club, please attempt to make up your mind on which approach you'd like to take. What the hec would be wrong with them playing local talent and then brining in during different parts of the year a few more players here and there to add depth etc? Its like your saying they either have to shell out loads of cash and bring big name/headed players for the whole season and get bagged for buying players or they should only play locals, struggle with numbers and depth and then get bagged for being ordinary! I cant keep up but I know in my day I was excited to play next to league players when they dropped back!

Bays beat Saints today by about 12 or 13 points in what was a pretty good game of footy. From a Saints point of view, not having the coach there due to a wedding committment and getting slaughtered in the ruck were the 2 major factors in losing. Both teams were good and terrible at times and should both be competetive without getting close to the top few. I thought that Heuskes, Jenkins, Love (before he did his shoulder) and no.21 (very quick) were best for the Bays while for the Saints Yeomans and Russell were good and Pudney kicked 4-4 in his first outing.

My Junior Colts, who won by nine goals, had a player who kicked 7. And HER name: GEMMA WILTON. What a great effort!!!!

Mclarens 12 points
Strath 40 points, Pongy to give stiff opposition early.
Compass in a close one
Willunga in a close one
Saints to bounce back.

Good week of footy and almost every game could go either way!

This round is a bit like the AFL, most games hard to tip except Geelong and Willunga!!!
Yank by 5 goals
Strath by 10 goals
Compass by 3 goals
Willunga by 15 goals
Encounter by 1-2 goals

I didn't do too badly with the tips this week, 5 from 5 and 3 of them very close on the margins!
Strath by 21 goals
Yankalilla by 1 goal
Encounter by 2 goals
Compass by 2 goals
Willunga by 16 goals.

Was good to see 3 real close games on the weekend. (and creeks getting belted!)I think there will be some great games this season and Creeks and compass might get knocked of a couple of times by lower sides.

I'd like to know what comments your are referring to when you ask "It's clear you have a beef with the club"??? In no way have I said anything bad against the club or the players. All I have done is point out your obvious contradictions. One post your saying that the club and the coach is doing the right thing by playing locals and juniors only (which I think is great) and try and get credit for only playing 21 points in the first round, only to hide the true fact that the only reason for this was because the clearances for your new imports hadn't come through yet. How many points did the club use on Saturday TC? Their was obviously at least another 3 points for Rankine? You also state that your new players have league experience? Which ones have league experience and how many games? Looking at the players you have brought in, some have played at Port in the under 19's and a few games in the reserves but not League games.
On a side note, and i'm not sure if you can answer this for me TC seeing as you say you have nothing to do with the club, but how come so many players that are trying to get cleared to EB are getting their clearances refused?? 4 out of the 9 refused clearances are to EB?

Great work Panther, maybe you need to be working a little harder rather than spending all your time studying the form of all the sides in the GSFL.

To clarify, Rankine played in round one for the Bays and by league experience I was referring to being at a league club. No contradictions at all on my behalf and to be sincere how the hell would I know why players are getting refused etc? I'm not a league delegate if thats what you are trying to refer to.
I'm still not sure if you understand what has been said, the players who have gone to the bay are apparently only using the club as a home club for when they do not have SANFL duties. Is that a crime or negative? Without being rude, what is your point?! I believe Encounter Bay blooded yet another senior colt on the weekend just gone if the papers anything to go by. Panther is that a contradiction also?

Teflon Coated is not Lindsay Bassani if that's what you are trying to infer Panther. He is just mad about footy. Although he may be the president of EB, or perhaps Tony Modra?
