Who was poached from that list , if a player falls out with his club and walks in your door is that poaching, tell me one other club that would say go away

If you have a points system as we do in the GSFL and you have no points, it has happened.
Once you have reached your points level that is it, unless they play reserves

Those guys listed above were recruited before the points system came in.

Gogel, Lynn, Lienert & Sumner all played junior footy at Imps, Sayers, Temby & Garrett left their clubs and Wanganeen has talked to every club in SA, none poached ,
I agree the points system means its important to keep your own players and should limit the transfer of players between clubs.
Perhaps FIL may want to elaborate on his own clubs record.

The point iam making is that no club is sqeeky clean .the comment that FOOTYWIZ81 made about not looking after locals at jervois .they were payed with success. No club in the last20yrs could say that the flag has not came at a cost $$$ except maybe mannum in 03 .As for RAMBLERS now theres a story. So when everyones having ago atjervois think again that was my point .

The figures quoted are only what I have been told (good sources), & may not be upto date. But I'm fairly confident that they are correct for their first seasons at the club. As we all know players tend to take $50-$75 pay cuts if it means the club can afford another gun, with increases the chance of being successful, especially if they intend to hang around for a few years, such as Puckers & Harrow. So I guess I admit those 2 figure may have been reduced lately, but I think it high-lights what clubs do pay to attract this calliber of player.

If you dont think that players who have SANFL league (especially) or reserves experience get this type of coin then ur kidding urselves guys.

Anyway, I know this might sound hypocritical after my post, but I could care less what blokes get, as long as they are good for the Club. Would sooner see a club like Imps pay 3 guys $600 each who will teach their younger players to be better, & give them a better grasp on the game, then pay 6-9 guys $200-$300 each, meaning these younger kids are playing reserves, not learning as fast as they could or developing that League awarness.

End Rant

Its been interesting reading about everyones thoughts on Imps with their poaching. Let me tell you that Matt Sayers,Damien Garrett,Michael Sumner,Chicko & Jamie Duhne were all poached by other RMFL clubs while playing for Imps. I am not sure for certain but I think you would find that all the above went to the Imperial footy club to play. They would have all been paid big dollars to play there but everyclub would have paid the same money if not more for that quality of player.
There record speaks for itself.
Matt Sayers: Preimership player,Footballer of the year,B&F winner.
Damien Garrett: 4 Times Premiership player.Footballer of the year,3 times B&F winner and a number of Association & Southern District games.
Michael Summer: Nearly drafted to the Fremantle footy club.
Chicko: Leading goalkicker for 5 years, kicked over 100 goals nearly everyyear he played for the blues.
Jamie Duhne: Ex league footballer.

The way i look at it, it doesnt matter if your paying your locals big bucks, they wernt recruited and they will show the most passion out of all the players they are a True Blud, or a True Blue, but then when you go recruiting people that might be around the club for 2-3 yrs its wrecking all the chances that your local juniors had of making the team when they come out of 17s.
I watched the Imps vs Jervois B grade game then the A grade game and there is young B grade onballers for jervois that playing Awesome but then you look in there A grade and it looks like most of the key players in ther A grade are recruits 1st - 4th yr players at the club. That was the point i was getting at FIL, not that Jervois spend all there money on recruits they just get alot of recruits before looking for there juniors to play a key role.
i know its my club but i was so pleased to see and up and coming player like Ben Quast take the role of standing Trev Rigney in the last round and first final, i may be wrong but i think he kicked 6 goals for both the weeks together, were he was in red hot form kicking big bags i thought that how the club had faith in Quast it just boosted the moral around the club showing we still have a skilled team with out our big payed recruits missing in that match was Balliee, Harrowfield, Puckers, Waite more but i just cant remember.
that was the point i was trying to make FootyIsLife.

The respective records of Jervois and Imps over the last 5 or so years would probably contradict that.

Im not just meaning last 5 years i mean for the last 50-60 years when there was no recruiting going on who was winning premierships, when the league turns to shit and clubs start paying 40k a year on players the clubs with the name and money will come out on top. But everyone looks at it in diffrent ways so there is 50 diffrent things people say about recruiting and how much should be spend and what to do with your locals and most people will be right its diffrent for every club and it looks like it worked out right for Jervois but then look at imps when they go looking for people they finish 3rd, just sit back and if they WANT to play for your club they will. :) :D

heard yesterday imps signed the kenny brothers, originally from the west coast. i wonder if people are going to pay out imps the same way that people jumped on jervois back about their recruiting of ex south players. what imps are doing is the same thing by recruiting mates from the west coast and blokes they work with. if you have a player with good contacts like harrowfield & puckridge have why wouldnt you use them to help with your recruiting.

I still don't think the brothers have signed but I think they are very close. Also confirm we will see Seyers back in an imps guernsey in 2009.
Michael Hines not vice president but player rep.

Also imps will not appoint a B Grade coach this year will be coached by Fielke and his assistants. David Schenscher and Harrowfield are confirmed as assistants with one more to come I think.

I've heard rumours the Kenny boys were talking with Berri, but I'm near on certain that was just a bargaining tactic.

Anyway, doesn't matter, from what I've heard they were looking to play for Imps but haven't or won't sign after being picked up by another club?

Correction to the above, Kenny boys should have signed recently with Imps.

Other club interested in them was Mypolonga.

Both players were never approached by the Berri Football Club

No, I can't. Just heard from various ends that Mypo's offer was the same as Imps, and Imps have all the connections so they should have it.
