Mypolonga- Runners Up in 2008 & without a doubt will be strong again in 2009, yes lost a couple of very good players but still are a young list with plenty of improvement in them. Would be a major surprise if they dont shape the top 3.

Jervois- Seem to be on a slight slide but dont be surprised if they recruit heavily this year, as the majority of their paid players have been there a while & would fall under the 0 points catagory. $$$ the only issue here!

Mannum- The last 2 GF's have been won by the home sides, & the GF this year is at Mannum. They will top up nicely as long as they dont lose too many in the off season. A real smokey for 2009

Tailem Bend- Could be the major improvers of the league, depending on how their recruiting goes.

Meningie- Will be up against it, & u cant help but feel sorry for them. Their location puts them at a big disadvantage before a ball is bounced. Lets hope they can build on what was a better last half of 2008.

All this said and done, recruiting will play THE MAJOR part in how everyone goes

Jervois will struggle to hold on to most of their recruits. Mail im getting up to 6 gun players want out.Having said that the bloods keep upping the ante to retain these players so you never know.

LH hope you dont think that the two rigneys are heading back to lonsdale for the peanuts you offered them . In any case they dont want to play at d2 level any way

Mate we havent offerered the Rigneys anything we cant compete with the sort of money they are being offered. Dont get me wrong we would love them back and they have shitloads of mates at our club be we arent going to insult them by offering 1/5th what they can get elsewhere. You know exactly where they are headed and i believe YOU are in fact offering Trev massive dollars in the south east. As for your smart comments in regards to div 2 level the bottom teams in Southern would walk all over the leagues you coach in.

Its good to see Jervois getting beaten at there own game, paying all the money to make a team and not worrying about any locals.

Mate you should watch what you say. Give me a list of the so called locals you believe are being paid? Which players are they chasing from other RMFL clubs. Just about every club used to ring Seyers every year, Harrowfield is also chased by most RMFL clubs. It's a common practice trying to get players from other clubs so just don't point the finger at imps. There is also no way Imps pay more money than Jervois that is just a ridiculous statement.

I'll have a crack

Waite- $600 will be more if they want him back
Puckers $600
L. Harrowfield $500
Charles $650
Girdam $450/$500 not sure exactly
Seyers offered $250
Puatti $200
Bailey was on $250 but pretty sure he was on nothing by seasons end
Tonkin started on $400 not sure what he finished on

1. Waite didn't even play for Imps last year. He played one senior game and a Reserve Game where he sat on the bench.

2. There is no way anyone is on $600 per game. If anyone is on that sort of money anywhere in the league it is absolutely ludicrous.

3. Puatti no way he is on that sort of cash.

4. I don't see any locals on that list as was alleged.

5. Puckers only played half of the year.

WTF??? Are you serious?? That is $3,650/ game without Sayers... multiplied by 14 games to be conservative... 51k without coaches payments, BPs or anything???

I agree FIL, seems every1 has to spend to be competitive, although to be fair the Panthers do (allegedly) spend more then any1 else

As for Bluey- You are right Waite didn't play last year, but thats what he'll get if he comes back
Charles (allegedly) has been delisted
Bailey, wont get paid
& Tonkin & Puckers did spend atleast 1/2 the year each on the sidelines.

But, if all the recruits had been fit, & as good as they thought they were going to be when they signed them, thats around the mark of what they would have been paying out.

What would be the reasoning behind Puckridge getting more than Harrowfield. I would have thought that the only players getting $600 would be ones who had played consistent SANFL league footy.

As a guess is it because Puckeridge was recruited where as Harrowfield is a local?
I would probably look at that list and take maybe $200 off the first five and you may be closer...but that is a guess!

Harrowfield wasn't a local initially, he was recruited and then moved to Murray Bridge, similar to what happened with Puckridge a year or so later. Anyway, i guess none of not directly associated with Imps would actually know what these blokes would be getting and the reasoning behind it.

Lets just try and get some sanity back into the discussion shall we, although i think FIL has achieved his objective to take the focus off his own club.
L Harrofield , wanted to play footy with his brother , yes left westies after 4 games the first year , liked what he found and moved to MB with his girlfriend and found a job,and is looking to buy a house, hardly an import now so why would he be paid the money your talking.
Puckridge , mates with Luke, same scenerio, found himself a job and a girlfriend and lives locally, knee injury unfortunate but still puts in around the club and may make a comback next year all things being well. Why would he expect to get paid those sort of dollars.
Baily , Came to the town with his job and after looking around chose Imps , was a 3 point player under the new system but did not even ask for money.
Puatti, has been with the club since he left school, has a longtime girlfriend here who plays netball and has never asked for anything like the dollars being mentioned.
Tonkin , mates with the hines boys , parents have a shack here and comes up weekends anyway, unfortunate run with injuries, not on the figure mentioned.
Girdam , mates with luke & puckridge , was a paid player , your figure unlikely
Charles , came witha big reputation , struggled with injury ,your figure laughable
Sayers, every year is offered huge dollars all over the state ,plays for imps for a lot less than he could get.
Waite , is mates with these guys too and played a few games this year for that reason , not for dollars,if he decided to come back would not ask for huge money.
So there it is FIL , your still to come up with the locals imps are supposed to be paying , and the players from other clubs they have approached , so as i suspect your full of it and as i said just trying to deflect from your own clubs position.
Goldberg u seem pretty confident and i guess your only fishing ,but if your using other clubs figure as a base they are paying way too much
