No doubt he would of been running around in the middle and stiching up your supply back in the 90's when one pointed forward set ups of the likes of deptula and trimboli produced 100 goal seasons, but counted for zero come finals.

Never opted for a " one point forward set up " there was always options with Dunstan , Trimboli , Frazer , Thom just to mention a few .... 1987 & 1989 when we knocked off your Willaston are good memories. Having to deal with Case , Stansborough , Watson and Whellum was never easy.

Perhaps Kennedy kicking 107 last year and claiming a premiership medal with another in the mail is a fair indication that big power full forwards still have plenty to offer in the game.

Nottle would have to be a option if he had the respect of his comrades. What happened to John Abbott ? i heard his name mentioned as chance for 2009.

When Lubba is finished and wants to hand on the batten , i just cant see Andrew Hamann & Schimdty appointing a coach from Angaston. Just wouldnt work.

Angaston are the only side that we haven't beaten this year but I know Staff is looking to get some bragging rights after saturday.
Bascombe will be no match for Trigger. Craggy will dominate the ruck and Gers will have to much experience for the Ango midfield.
We will have to clamp down on Bain and Rathjen on the wings. Rathjen got under the radar last game.

Jamo will be buying me a beer after saturday.

Before Seelander was marched out the door, Ferret promised him that he had a job waiting for him upon Lubke running his race.
Although, Ferret has been known to crank it a few times.
Bit of water under the bridge since that offer, now enjoying prosperous times at Elliot Goodger Park.
Both the Donny’s and Boxhead's have had their share of power forwards.
The Donny's had the Doctor running around like a madman possessed, and we can’t forget The "Kid" Silvy.
Boxheads have had Trimboli, the ultimate hardmand in John Falting, but the best of them was Gummy Schrapel.
I remember him standing on Milky Johnston's ginger nugget a few times back in the day.
Gummy was probably the best power forward I’ve seen in my time.

Norm11..... Good to hear that the road show has found a base.
Any word on player movements heading north with Nelson?

rathjen doesnt get under anyones radar, a fully fit ango side for the grand final will see him on the "plonk" watching his teammates. he's getting a bit old now anyway, would have to be mid 30's, time to give the game away. could possibly be the last game or two for quite a few senior ango players. lets hope they finish their careers with a win

Andy is a smart operator and likes to keep his finger on the pulse , as former player i doubt his appointment would of got past the board.

Basil Falting was great value on and off the paddock. Patty Schwerdt also needs a mention amongst these legends at the Magpies. The Apex bakery was producing record sales when those big boys were in town.

The Donnies at the other end had David Reeves kicking plenty and Dean Docherty controlling the air.

I have no problem with Smarty coaching Tanunda , at reserves level.

Osama, has Tim Mcneil made legend status at Angaston yet ?

Plugger04.... Yes, McNeil was a fantastic player after moving to the area upon his leauge career finishing at the parade.
The lad could play at either CHB, CHF or FF. Kicked 11 straight for the panthers one day, from memory against the Bomber.
He used to give the umpires a spray that was worth the admisson fee alone.
Would have been a good player in the Nth Territory.

The executive recruiters at Tanunda saw Lubke as a good fit with a winless season or 2 at Barossa Districts as his highest creditentials or was he even just the Bulldogs B Grade coach? not sure, but this would most certainly bring Rian Nelson into calculations for the next man to take charge of the wine barons.

Steve Lubke was always going to coach at Tanunda , he wanted to do his apprenticeship elsewhere and what harder proposition then taking on the basket case at BD.

The facts state Lubba has one A grade premiership medal hanging over his mantle piece and another with his name already engraved for 2009.

Thats two more then Nelson was able to achieve with his Bulldogs and more then ANY Willaston coach has produced in the last ten years.

Thought there would have been more love for Harvey's votes last night? I am a little disappointed !!! :(
Maybe i'll get my fix tomorrow in everybody's favourite sporting column "GT Sports", otherwise known as the Angaston Football Club times...
Or are they getting concerned about a 20 plus degree day??? ;)

Snoozer..... The warmer weather will see Stafford and Coach Hadden execute there own game plans.
There will be many advantages for the panthers in the warm weather, if not advantageous.
The sun will keep Brandon 'The Body' Kurtz out of the solarium and soak up the natural Ultra Violet Rays.
The folically challenged solar panels of Clarke, Harvey and Rathjen will be aided by the sun.
Also less coal should be required to fill the hotbox of the "B-TRAIN".
Forward, your post was very hard to read. It made you look illiterate, you are a knob.

Quote of the day.... "It made you look illiterate, you are a knob"... A wise man once said to me, "dont worry about what i'm up to, you worry about whats going on in your backyard first"...
Osama - Maybe you should apply to be on "are you smarter thank a fifth grader"... As i'm pretty confident to say you did not pass fifth grade??? Sorry, i should take some of my own advice...

But back to the important stuff... I presume Kapunda oval will be in great condition, as the lads finished training there about a month ago, he he... This will suit the Nuri game (relying on running half backs), they WILL have too much run/youth for an ageing Angaston line up. The only thing that can help Ango, will be the forecast of windy weather, which could bring it back to a scrap... Warm and fine - Nuri by 5 goals. If it gets as windy as they predict, nuri's youth will turn the ball over, Ango by a couple points... CANT WAIT... 8)

Osama, is Craig Robinson lining up for you boys this week or out injured? How has his season been? I saw he had a reasonable stretch of making it into the best players in the Sunday Mail.

MATT LOKAN ex collingwood/port magpie player to join the ranga at the redlegs next year! Unsure if as coach or player. Apparently been in the pipe line for a while but wanted to keep this from port until there season had finished. Will be interesting to see if he can bring anyone else with him next year.
Drifter, have you heard this or are you out the loop now good mate prouse is gone? or playing your cards close to your chest as usual. ;)

Snoozer, wouldn't think much of a man/woman who takes unecessary potshots at Teaks,
The guy is only guilty of loving his sport, especially footy, and especially Ango.
If this is a crime then start using my name instead of his.
If he was completely able-bodied he would no doubt be the kind of guy that would be first at training
and the last to leave, would think the reason he is excessively passionate is he is unable to do the things
we all take for granted and therefore has to spend his love of the game on paper rather than on the field.
Also, Would think Lubs's job would be very tough, living up to expectations can be a stressful pastime.
Haven't really spoken to the man before Monday night, seems like a decent guy.
Meanwhile...Is it Saturday yet? Can't wait to get to Kapunda (wouldn't say that too often).

Stewie - No offence to the great man, i can certainly respect his endevour. But i will continue to treat him as i would anyone else. He's a big boy and does not need any special care or sympathy from you or i.
As for Lubke - he is from all reports a really nice guy too. But you cant deny he has easily had the best list in the league for the last 2 years. I'd rather have the stress of tgoing into a game expecting to win, rather than expecting to lose...???

Is good to see the great man's photo on this site,
Hopefully the coach of the year for 2009.
As for Lubs, a talented list means a lot of ego's to please,
Hard to keep all of them happy.
