Lets hope the directors make the right decision and change ovals this week! Tanunda oval should never been considered as a possible finals venue this year due to its condition. Surely there are better ovals than that around at this stage of the year, hopefully something is learnt from this and it doesn't happen again! All i can say is good luck to tanunda with training on it for the next few weeks, hope it doesn't take too much out of your legs! then again i suppose it wont matter will it swooper! heard you guys already got back-2-back shirts made up!!!!

Toronto you tell which oval in this league would have looked good last weekend after the rain we had, the answer is none. Tan pitch has been bad this season but when the BLG set the finals they do not have a crystal ball to tell them the forecast. Fact is that all final have to be shared around and Tanunda has only had 2 in the last decade. No t-shirts made just yet.

Swooper

Willaston Oval in terrific condition at the present be lucky even if the square was muddy on saturday.

Correct. Willaston is always in great condition... Cant see why they couldnt get given a final this year.
Williamstown is too small to host a final and especially after the rain we have had over the past two weeks the ground is definately going to struggle to hold up...

Willaston oval may well have been looking the goods but the reason they have no finals this year is because they had the GF last year, very simple. As swooper said all finals have to be shared around but as we know the distribution is not always fair, some clubs eg. Kapunda & Nuri do seem to get their fair share (maybe even Freeling).

At this stage Freeling is full of the Hodges rumour but there is no official announcment just yet.

Hodges and Drifter, what a combination. No love loss there.
Would Hodges retain Eichner that being the case.

Can't explain the mentality behind the finals series going over 4 weeks.
Under this system there appears to be no real advantage in gaining the double chance, as Nuri will find out.
I know coach Hadden was not particularly concerned missing the double chance, as the winner from the first weeks final has a better lead into the big dance.

I'm guessing right about now that coach Dawe would be seeing the advantage of securing the double chance.

Original reasoning (from memory) was Barossa clubs wanted to avoid playing kids sport on sunday mornings, and they cant play both on saturday because clubs could potentially have sides at two venues.

Timmie... Coach Dawe and his boys were just making up the numbers, he would have gone out in straight sets either way if playing the Prelim final or not.
Appears to be a pretty ordinary excuse to avoid Saturday and Sunday finals, maybe all the boxheads will be at church instead.
If my memory serves me correct, the BL&G believe they will generate more revenue with a 4 week finals series, opposed to Sunday finals.
As for me, Sunday is a holy day when I pray for Allah.

I'm thinking you might have to talk to the timekeepers and to Allah before next Saturday as the Muslim afternoon prayer is scheduled for 3:33 so you'd want to time the half time break well otherwise coach Hadden may be down a player.

As for you sunday prayers, if you get through and take out the whole think I'm thinking you may be replacing Allah for one sunday and will be praying to the porcelein bowl along with 20 team-mates by about mid-day.

On the grape vine I have heard that Matt & Paul Stelzer Boy are returning to Barossa for 2010.

Also Sponge Nelson is looking at a coaching job in the Adelaide plains league, If that is true, he is gone and lets forget him.
Something to think about

Why would we do that??
He was shafted by the Barossa Football Club just like there reserves coach by the sounds!

Stelzer boys didn't like sponge so they were always going to be back as soon as there was a new coach appointed!
