Easy when theres no report to start with. Whilst an incident may be easily identifiable from watching video footage, during live play things happen in a split second and umpires i think can be excused for missing things like this from time to time as they need to be very sure just what happened to be reporting and sending players off etc.
I guess clubs have the right to make their own reports and use video evidence? Im not sure what the process is?
Also im guessing clubs at times dont want to be seen as dobbers and unless a serious injury resulted from a dog act clubs im guessing would just rather move on and concentrate on next week.
Incidentally Sellar for the Creeks suffered a severe concussion from a rucking contest against Alleway earlier in the season and was forced to miss the following match. Not making any aspersions as to what actually happened there as didnt see it, just the result. Who knows, may have been an accident?
Anyway after the AFL seemingly endorsed Gary Ablett earlier in the season with his wayward elbows who knows whats acceptable these days?

With the clear and damning evidence that we just viewed I think the league should intervene and be proactive.

Yes, it probably would've been missed by the umpires as they are generally fixed on watching where the ball is.

Not blaming the umpire, can't call it if he doesn't see it, but surely the league have seen it now and can call it.

Couldn't care if he's ex-SANFL, it was a deadset snipe after the ball had gone and deserves weeks. If it ends his career, so be it.

My mail is that an official report has been lodged in recent days and though he will be free to play this week end he will face the tribunal next week.

If he is suspended this puts him over the 16 game mark. Meaning Life suspension. De-registered by the SACFL. Would this mean his coaching days are also done?

After watching the footage he’s gonna need the bloke that got OJ off. As mentioned previously if that happened in the C9AFL you’d be looking at many weeks and probably have your name in the Advertiser for 1-2 days. Terrible looking act and whilst the other incident you could argue was a football incident (if isolated) when you combine both it leaves nothing to the imagination.

Ask any opposing clubs in the league and this is a reasonably common occurrence from this player in question in what is generally a very clean League.

Anyone watching the live-stream of the count on Youtube?

Seem to be having bad connection issues meaning the stream is choppy as anything...

Sellar (LH) 24
Vitkunas (MC) 22

Tonkin has been running the league for years yet still can't pronounce Langhorne Creek properly. There is no S in Langhorne Gordon.

1. It’s not Gordon
2. Gordon isn’t president any more
3. Gordon is from LC and isn’t that naive

If this is actually correct Grasshopper what you say about him being free to play this week but sitting next week then it’s totally crap from the SFL. I’m pretty sure the constitution says that a player who is reported cannot play until they have sat at the tribunal.

I feel for the opposition players, if he knows next week he is likely to get life ban then what’s to stop him this week going out all guns blazing especially with the reputation he has. Not a good look at all or New President Terry Corcoran and the GSFL

If the GSFL rules are the same as the SFL rules then if a player is reported by a club official or by the league deciding to conduct its own investigation then a tribunal/investigation committee is not convened to hear the matter until the following week and the player is free to play until then. I don't have a problem with that because it's still a better outcome than not having any power to look into a matter if it was missed by the umpires on the day.
