Lost to only 2 teams all year, had 12 wins out of 16 and have had 3-6 guys out every week.
Congratulations on having such an amazing football mind.
Funny, in the 1 sentence you say too quick and skillful and then mention Burley......
Good bloke Burley, but can honestly say he has never struck even a tiny amount of fear into me.

Thanks for the stats Stewie. I have alot more faith in Angaston now. Ill change my prediction knowing that.

Looks like it will be Blue & White painted on the Penfolds chimnie in 2009.

Had picked Nuriootpa and Tanunda finals in both grades until i read your post Stewie. Those stats will get you through to a GF for sure.

The panthers for me also in the A Grade now against Tanunda.
Those three to six guys out every week sounds like us down at the den.

Just glad you can now make an informed opinion, which will no doubt be a newfound experience for you.
Will make a nice change from the one-eyed rants that normally come out.
I am backing Ango too, nothing one-eyed here, lets paint the chimney now.
Go Ango.
Oops, you weren't being sarcastic were you?

Pacman, i like your parochialism but i'll attempt to give a little more balanced view to the argument between the ango boys and us.
I think it will be a very close game this week with the weather bringing ango into contention adv ango.
Both sides have rookie coaches but wacka has coached in finals before where as hadden hasnt, adv central.
Pressure on us as the coach was spat out last year after losing a prelim final (he's no orphan there  ). Wacka does have a more talented list than last year with a number of players returning to the club, he would have to be very nervous about his job if we finish 4th, adv ango.
The injured players who have returned for us have had a couple more games under their belt than ango's, adv central
We have a very good assistant coach in ben walton, not sure on ango's, adv central.
Last time we played ango in a 1st semi we won the flag, adv central.
Defence adv ango
Midfield even
attack adv central
So from this i conclude that it will be a central victory 10.12-5-8.

Why didnt you finish 3rd then lace out. I'll tell you why, a minibus for a coach, your recruiting was done in the apfl( no offence to the guys out there) but broad and vandenberg would have to go down as a couple of the worst recruits to ever enter our comp, all the infighting. Your club has gone backwards in Herzicks 4 year reign and will get worse before it gets better imo. There is no way you can expect anyone to come into that club and turn it around in one year.

Next time the chimney is painted blue and white it will be a South Gawler premiership.

Angaston are a woefull club , right up there with Barossa Districts & Port Elliott.

Tanunda will win the flag in a canter. The scary part is the Magpies will be even stronger next year.

as a bit of an apfl follower its interesting to read your comments about the apfl recruits. they werent upto the level? or struck by injury?. saw them both play well in the apfl but they also seemed to be missing often through injury.

Also said I was 58kg, if I was that much of a waife I probably would fear Burley.
Alas, I am concerned that not all posts on here are factual.
Plugger......should have called yourself Butt plugger......
South will be lucky to win another flag in your lifetime,
Ango have a great heritage and a great club spirit and a community following, where as South just have the heritage.

This weeks finals
A -Grade Angaston to defeat Gawler centrals in a close tussle by 1 to 5 points
B - Grade Tanunda to defeat Willaston by 10 to 15 points
Sometimes the old guys do know whats best

Anyone have any idea who Freeling would be looking at for their head coach? New coach or experienced?

Steve Eichner as playing coach with open cheque book would be the only sensible option it worked for Leal.

ph- depends what your definition of working is i guess. 3 grand finals no premierships followed by 2 wooden spoons is hardly a great cv for the club IMO. eichner has knocked back the job

Leal was a great coach and imo 3 grand finals is a success, sure we didn’t win any but we got out played on the days (need to be in it to win it). To give him one year after 3 grands was a big mistake.

Eichner would be a great coach, has a great relationship with the players and would know people in and around the sanfl that would want to play country footy like scot Leal did. but do they want a coach with some experience?
