Not dropping any names cuzzy, is that because they are not confirmed and a good chance they will never show again?
A bit like when Bas told us to kkep our eyes open as A. Lynch was going to have a run, 2 months later we still have not heard a thing. Things look simmilar to last year, Bays an Bas can talk the talk but can they walk the walk in 08????

There was some new bloke playing on the HFF called McDonald who has played most of his footy with West Adelaide from what I hear. He didn't get much of the footy last night (not in the 1st quarter anyway) but apparently he's pretty handy.

yeah he goes well, played a bit of league last year. On some very good coin from what I hear so lets hope he gets a bit more of it!!

The profile in the Times today suggests that the Bays outs are as follows:

N. Agius to Marion
Stokes to Marion
Coleman to Kilburn
Bayliss to Jervois
Ryan to SHOC

As much a i love Encounter Bay, is there any chance we can all refrain from talking about them for at least a 1 week period?

According to the GSFL website, they've had about 10 with the significant ones being...
Ben Stokes (CHF)
Dylan Frank (Midfield)
Daniel Coleman (Forward pocket or flank)
Ben Princi (Wing)
Jason Baylis (Ruck)
Scott Kretchmer (Back Pocket)
Matthew Webber (Midfield/Forward Pocket)

Others who have cleared from Bays-
Nathan Agius- Struggled with injuries and only played 2 A grade games
Mitch Ryan- Young country kid playing at West Adelaide but only played a couple of A grade games
Scott Davis- B Grade ruckman, played a couple of A grade games

Lindsay will pick up a couple of good players and if the players that have already been named on here play then will still be competitive. Look out for the big fella himself to lead the goal kicking for the team...and the point kicking for the league...

Most clubs would take Blum to ruck for them.

bays had a ruckman in a young local lad Andrew Philp on sat against mount barker, Philp did not loose a tap all day and can get to all contests around the ground. If he stays fit blummy wont have to ruck.

If people dont like talking about the bays on here, why keep whinging about it, why dont you write something decent from your own club so we can talk about it?

What happened to Andrew Philp Cuzzy? you comment says "bays HAD a ruckman" so have they lost a player already?
The bays are a very easy target to talk about and everyone knows so much about them due to last season and the man in charge cant keep his mouth closed for 2 minutes.

philp is still playing "had" was the wrong use of words.

as for the bays, the fact that whateva the coach and a few players say on here is taken seriously by you blokes is a joke. why would any club write on here who they have recruited and who they have lost, any smart coach / president of another club would be straight onto it.

i think its a credit to the bays that you guys all think you know whats going on, even the times doesnt have a clue but every other club is fairly open about everything, Come season, clubs wont know who the bays have and havent got, i mean the clubs will have the clearance info but not much else and we all know the gsfl site struggles to stay up to date at the best of times.

credit to victor also, nonone has got on here and blabbed yet, i know the a grade coach from victor and when you see him at the pub he wont even talk footy.

i dont need to go fishing on the weekend, i can throw the line out on here and get heaps of bites, hilarious!!

Bit of talk on the SFL thread that some young Reynella lads have been out training with McLarens. Word has it Reynella coach Dave Evans caught wind of this and promised all the young lads A grade games. Big promise... if I was McLarens I'd be calling these lads up after round 3 or 4 because Evans still wouldn't have given these boys a run. I think these boys would enjoy the GSFL and the atmosphere that surrounds it.

mate your a small country town football club nothing stays under wraps and come 3 weeks when the season starts all teams will have one or two surprises but everyone talks so all clubs will be well aware what is going on in the league.
And as for Saunders not talking footy to you maybe he has no point to talk footy with you, everytime i see him out footy is all he talks.

Well for starters you said "As much as I love EB", (yes I know it was tongue in cheek), and in the past you have stated that you play ruck...
Bayliss was talked of highly in the GSFL. Both times I played against him he jumped really well, gave me a hiding in the middle, but around the ground and at boundary throw ins he wasnt as dominant when you go body on body. Didnt do much around the ground in terms of taking marks. Having said that I rucked agaginst him in Round 1 and in the second match he was injured before half time so it might not be a fair indication

I am now a specialist b grade forward pocket, but I think that make shift ruckman like Philp can be sufficient for a team. The game has changed a lot so the traditional big bloke who sits accross half back taking marks is not so effective anymore. Everybody would love a Todd Steele, but the last couple of years have seen guys like, Hames (VH), East (MC) and the young bloke form the Creek who can jump do pretty good jobs, when realistcally they all probably are not your 'traditional' ruckman. Is this due to the big blokes all wanting unrealistic $$$$$$$$$?
