not sure gums will go too far into the major round... certainly have improved but got kangy and echunga on weeks with many players out and both the blus and dees accuracy lost them the game. kangy had about 10 more scoring shots and only went down bu 6 points. gums top 5 players are very good but the talent peters out quickly after that.

Who would be Gums top 5-8 players this year?? Any local lads or all imports??

not overly familiar with them but i think most are imports. mick ashby is their best by far

Been well documented that Kersbrook are an exception to the rule with it's best players Pearce Bros, James Bros, Farruiga and Bingos all locals. The Brookers would be probably be the lowest point scoring team along with Nairne. However Matty Gardner who has joined the club from Onka Valley and has regularly been in the best this season would be a 2 pointer.

I think when TV played Nairne they might have had 1 or 2 locals in the A's (locals being born & bred in the area, not guys like Carter who have been there for 3-4 years)

It's a heritage guernsey for what they wore 100 years ago.
Maybe someone like TEX could inform us but I thought they'd been around as a club for more than 100 years.
They'll be wearing it again in rounds 10 and 15 I think.

Kangy had to result to dirty tactics in the last quarter to get close to Gums, (king hitting Mick Ashby rendering him concussed for the last quarter, a feral 'runner' swinging punches at Gums midfielders (this runner would make Arnfield look like a fairy princess). Fact is for the first three quarters when it was just football being played, Gumeracha looked the 10 goal better side. When the Kangy southern <not necessary> turned the game into a boxing match they looked competitive with the Gumeracha ball players.

firstly...im not sure you were watching the same game. kangarilla are not well known for their 'dirty tactics' as gumeracha apparently are. ashby was NOT king hit. 98% of people there gums and kangy alike would attest to that.

secondly... there is alot of he said/she said about the game and obviously players and supporters from kangarilla and gumeracha have differing views. however you have to admit the overwhelming consistency between posts made from people from this forum from sides that have played gums, is they are overly aggressive and attack the body and not the ball. at the end of the day everyone has moved on and is ready for another game of football. if you wanted to weight into the arguement you should have said something earlier in the week when it was a hot topic.

thirdly... you gain absolutely nothing from name calling and labelling people ferals or inbreds or the like on this forum. all it does is make you look like an oaf and reaffirm the stereotype that many people in this league have about gumeracha players and supporters

fourthly... move on. you're only as good as your next game. theres another 12 or so games to be played. while im one of many who think its great that gums are back on the winners list you wont win a premiership in may.

98% hey, id suggest youre wrong about that. Many people on this forum have that view ?? Wrong again, however I do know many a club who have labelled Kangarilla an arrogant bunch.... whether that is just the coach's influence I have no idea but I know from personal experience this club in particular has always been happy to shoot its mouth off when playing against us, calling us "losers" and "a useless club".... pretty rich for a club who had to move back here to find success.

I wont say you're feral and inbred, thats pretty low and not a place I want to go but to say none of this happened from the Kangy end is complete and total garbage. Yes our players do tread a fine line ill be the first to admit that, but when runners and even spectators from the opposition club get involved, dont you think its gone too far ???

yes i do think that is goint too far. and i dont condone that behavior from anyone at any club. and im not saying that nothing happened at the kangy end but i believe it was reactionary to gums behavior. id say gums has an arrogance about them now though... saying kangy were as easy to ebat as cally at the end of the game... thats shooting your mouth off! i think the gums runner was also in that fracas? may be incorrect.

i wouldnt be pointing the finger at kangy moving back to find success. any club would do the same. a town with the population of kkangy (200 or so) will NEVER compete with the likes of morphett vale, brighton or cove. thats like saying gums have bought players to find success. no different!

I think the easybeat comment was to get a rise out of the opposition. Not for one minute do I think we've become arrogant. We simply cant afford to do so considering where we have come from, and I dont think our coach would allow it. Im not saying you couldve competed down there, but to have that thrown in our faces when we were down and out doesnt show a great deal of humility.

That said, I also am no fan of on-field "violence" from either the opposition side or my own. As ive mentioned I dont think anything we have done has overstepped the mark but yes some players tread a fine line and will probably continue to do so. I dont believe our runner was involved in the fights but again this may be wrong.

On a much happier note, nice to see Ben Hanna cleared back to Gums, where he belongs.

both brett and radar voted unanimously with the a grade side 2 weeks ago that if you didnt train you didnt play any grade if you were in the a grade squad. it was a strong stance from the LEADERSHIP group not the coach to not pick those players

karoonda struggling sugar daddy? thinking of poaching more players?

Massive stance for Kangy to leave out 2 guns for a game against the Brookers with both sides coming of somewhat shock losses. Good stance mind you, has to show the other players that if you dont commit that week you dont play.

Echunga over Maccy by 13pts.
Kersbrook by 27pts over the Southern Roos.
Nairne to snatch victory by 1 point with a goal after the final siren.
Cheque-book Valley Lions to demolish Meadows by ummm... 25 majors.
