Donkey has been a bit quiet on here lately. Maybe he is attending a crash training/strapping course on how to tape ankles, knees and shoulders.

Definately a bit of action in the trainers rooms of late. Nothing the club cant sort out though I might add. Styrups, sixes and locks all round boys. Apparently stretch Walker has put his hand up and wants a trade to Magpie land.

Don't know about that but they should for lack of committment to the club and team.

That certainly turned around quickly jumbo. Bit of a worry given there are so many local young lads playing.

WTF? You got some injuries we don't know about?

PS: Not only a big game on sat donkey but big week in the dream team too! Can the Creatures beat the Donkeys? Creatures have been in good form since we last played off :D

Nah just not travelling at 100% at present I feel and United should be fresh and on the improve. Makes for a real cracker. GF dress rehersal maybe?? Both teams gotta bit of work to do yet though.
Donkeys are in real trouble with DT this week. Avg solid 1800's for last 10 weeks but choked with 1600 last week. Huge game MC, its progress will be discussed in Kosi's Corner after the big one Sat. You hanging around for a few quiet super doopers.

When there are many locals busting their butts at training and on saturdays and seeing how some of these so called "stars" just don't perform or show any committment to the club - it would not surprise me if they were sacked.

TW should take the last 2 games as an opportunity to blood a few more youngsters and give them a taste of A grade footy.

Tips for the week:
Hummocks by 8 goals
United by 3 goals
Two Wells only just
More interest to be shown in the TW/HB game in the B grade

RE: Robertstown - apparently they have "voted" to move to the APFL as their No 1 option for the coming season. I don't know what other options are - "Stay Mid murray" I assume is another.

Word is they would not be competitive in APFL - that is coming from the Directors who visited Robertstown last week.

Interesting times now as the clubs will need to have a good think about accepting them in or not. Pros and cons for the APFL gentlemen?

Do they have a guernsey clash with any APFL sides?

Pros
goodbye to the bye
renewed interest in the APFL

Cons
non-competitive football
short term fix to RT issues
additional travel required from all clubs

Your rumour was pretty accurate MC - TW fielding possibly the youngest side ever this week. Some very talented players coming up from U17s and keen as mustard to have a crack.

Lots of APFL people are a touch parochial and overestimate the standard of the league.

There are several clubs to blame for that. Apart from the top few clubs the others have dished up rubbish that wouldnt get near a div 4 side. Alternatively I think our top few sides when fully fit and playing at their best would match it with most div 2 sides without to much worry.

The other thing to remember is that if Robertstown do head south to play with us, their club becomes more attractive for imports as they dont have to travel as far for games, hence they may well improve thier depth and standards.

No resignation mate. Goodie is an invaluable contributor to Mallala FC, clubs would really struggle without the likes of Goodie putting in the amount of time and effort that he does each and every week, just to get the lads on the park. All clubs have and need blokes and gals like him. Sensational.

Very valid point there Donk. I think that will be a major issue in them wanting to come to our league. I guess the other thing is, do they have funds to compensate this. Not that you need to spend big dollars but you don't want to be sending yourself broke.

They have a strong club.
But if they can't attract loads of recruits now, why would it be any different if they move to the APFL (which I doubt will happen).

If this is the case, then i applaud what Two Wells are doing. They are in a situation that any club could find themselves & they are sending a clear message. Its a bad state of affairs if your imports lose committment just cos they can't make finals. Imports aren't always expected to show the same amount of loyalty as locals (although it would be nice) but from what i've heard these guys are pathetic. Assuming they are not asked back, i would think their reputations are now shot in this league & also to any other leagues clubs who would care to listnen to any pissed off TW club person.

I think people under rate how good some lower division teams are. Adam O'Hara is playing div 6 and people think there is still a better ruckman in the div than him. What was the result this year between the Elizabeth v Two Wells trial? The top div 4 teams would fancy themselves as finals contenders in the APFL.

As far as Robertstown goes, teams generally play to the level of their competition. A good way to improve a club is to put them in a better competition. This is shown every year in the amateur league. Clubs going up a division recruit heavily, train harder and put in more work to be competitive.
