I'll give you a hint.....oh when the ling....go crumbaLING. (ps up yours GTS you W@nker - man I hate that bloody song!!!!!)

On the Lofty v Ironbank Juniors debate, I have given IB juniors credit, but have to say they aren't quite in the smae league as the Devils juniors of recent times:

S Miles - Sturt League
T Broadbridge - Melbourne AFL
S Broadbridge - Port Res.
N Petersen Gray - Sturt Res.
J Holmes - Adelaide 36ers and Melb Dragons
T Maslin - Mortville Champions

Have heard along the grape vine that Uraidla are throwing the coin around big time. McLean Brothers Kane and Wade are on $1100 a game between them!

Also another norwood player by the name of Matt Vidic has signed witrh Uraidla fetching around $500 a game.

All 3 are very handy players indeed.
How good is footy!

So Uri won't be playing finals this year as they'll be broke by July!!!

That's $1600 per game for those 3 which puts them bloody close to the salary cap for 18 games at $28,800. Not much left for anyone else! Scotty S playing for free?

On Uri's I've heard that those ballbags who sit in the box above the scoreboard pay $10k between them per season for the priveledge. If that's true then the price of cabbage is way too high!

TWE & Mop Up, I take it back if i offended you fellas but that is clearly not what i was attempting to do. That's great if 1/3 of last years A/grade team had recently come up from the juniors, there should be more teams like it. What I was trying to get at is the fact that I don't think Ironbank has the lure, or the $$$ for that matter, that some other clubs have in attracting gun players. Maybe it's just me but I never get a good feeling when I rock up at Ironbank oval, the clubhouse, changrooms and size of the oval just don't seem to give a good vibe to the place, nor do some of the players mind you, but maybe that's just me. Fingers crossed you boys do start challenging for a flag in coming years but in my opinion I don't think you will....just my thought's however.

DA: Not going to give away my colours at this stage, that would spoil the fun of it, you'll get an idea sooner or later no doubt.

On the salary cap topic, what is the point having a one, everyone knows nobody abides by it, so what is the point? Having said that I can't believe Cabbage land are forking out such large dollars for a couple players, you're right DA, clearly the price of Cabbages is way too high! Surely old Cobbledick the stinky b@std would be able to give himself a shower at curent prices!!!

I hear a few of the top clubs are paying $500+ for players this year. Looks like the biggest cheque book will win the flag this year....

That is pure GOLD!!!
Also lets not forget... Matty Stapes, Jonno Temme, Lachlan Fleet, DK STevens and Matty Baldock who are all DIV 1 A GRADE PREMIERSHIP PLAYERS. No one at Ironbank can claim that!!!

The forum may find this very interesting...

Had a hit of golf with a couple of lads from down at Sturt last week... and one of the blokes... I won't name names but lets just say he has won a Magery Medal... said he was offered BIG money to come 'back' to Hills Football as a player/assistant coach at Blackwood in the HFL. And when I say BIG I mean an absolute PACKET!

He also said that former SANFL LEGEND and dual Magery Medallist Damien Squire had also been approached by Blackwood with a similar deal...

And if you were wondering... the bloke told Blackwood to stick it!

By the way I50, good to hear those ex-league boys told Blackwood to go stiff themselves, they certainly won't regret the decision regardless of the $$$ involved!

I think you're spot on about the cheque book buying the flag this year Flying Fox. Can't see Blackwood winning it though, surely they can't buy a whole damn team!!! Pagey is a gun mind you. I just can't undertand that club though, they should be an absolute power house, there must be some people losing some patience??? And what are they doing in the hills league anyway??!! There's nothing worse than a sat morning drive to feckin windy hilL!

lets not forget how well blackwood did two years ago . they lost one game all year and then went out in straight sets in the finals. and they had spent a mint on players that year as well.

Blackwood are pretenders.

Have a look at their U17's last year also - only lost 1 game all year until the mighty Devs tought them a lesson in the GF.

I hope their seniors do the same thing this year - go undefeated to the GF (yes - even over the Devs) only for the cream to rise to the top in Sept with the Devils beating them when it counts. Then their pres can take his bat, ball, cr@ppy caravans and empty wallet and **** off to amatuers!!!
