compromise - swap you and PINT - a move up forward often increases the enthusiasm ....

Thats all well and good Jumbo, but not sure how the ball is going to get to the forward lines with myself in the ruck. Fair to say I'm not the most 'athletic' type going around  Ah well, maybe Donkey and Ace can just man up at centre bounces and hope for the best.

So no-one has any clue as to J Cic's intentions or next year?

Jeez, last year if anyone had suggested that he had even thought about going somewhere else wedgetail would have been all over it.

C'mon Ace, take up the sensitive Hummocks attitude.

APFL executive will be heading to another league to watch a club keen on joining the league this coming weekend.

Yeah, but do you really think that the Mid Murray league will fold next year (or at all) Dog? I'm not so sure. Will some of the Hills clubs join that league? Will Robertson still want to come here even if their league continues? All these questions I'm not so sure about but I guess you would have a better idea than most considering you have been covering this issue lately.

Sounds like a plan - maybe we can run 4 centremen :) - or bring TG4U up into the ruck when he is coasting at FB.

There is no way Justin will ever play anywhwere else other than at HWEFC with his brother. Is that what you want to hear?

If he was still at MANCIC Seafoods, for all you quality fresh seafood, I would have said the above is true, however, given that he's now based back in Adelaide, I have heard he'll be concentrating on having another year in League.

Lets hope that the league bases its decisions on decent arguments both for and against, and they give all delegates and clubs the full story and figures so informed decisions can be made.

I heard on the weekend that Robertstown where prepared for APFL teams to only travel to Robertstown once a season - seems like a good sweetener but the facts on distance etc need to be well known.

Getting rid of the byes is a good thing as long as the cost isn't too high - 15 games a years plus finals is a pretty short playing season.

Can Dog keep us informed if there is any progress - good or bad?

Robertstown would be very ordinary in our league. My brother-in-law who was a very average B Grader in the APFL ten years ago and hadn't played since was playing CHF/CHB for their A's last year.

If their league folds where will the other clubs go?

People winge from up our way about going as far as Virginia and the down south clubs about going to Lochiel, how would they go heading all the way from Two Wells/Virginia to Robertstown?

Thanks DW - much appreciated

I don't know too much about them except that they are quite a distance from TW - don't think the distance would vary too much from PT Wakefield to Robertstown and TW to Robertstown - the sweetener we heard about on the weekend doesn't seem too bad - only 1 trip to Robertstown per season.

The cost of fuel as we all know is going to be a factor on everyone's mind.

I don't speak for the club but the option may not be too bad for the APFL - gets rid of the bye and adds some new interest to the competition. Much water to go under the bridge yet though.

Mid Murray only play 16 in their ressies and Robertstown has had to even forfeit that when they have players unavailable (they have 8 or so work two weeks on/off at Moomba)

Don't want another Roseworthy College fiasco with teams drawing them on college holidays and pumping them by 30 goals plus.

I like it! Who is coach?

Any suggestions - maybe Dogwatcher .... or should be playing coach ....

Is muckhole still eligible. Its been a while but I think he'd still hold his own. Lets not forget Wedgetail either, was a solid contributor last season but has gone missing. New job Ace??
Oldschool for coach: A well seasoned veteren that has seen plenty of footy. Finds that next level on Saturday nights too.
Any further conclusion from last night Ace? No bottles allowed MC, plastic cups only!

I dont think travel is a problem for senior players. It is not hard to get a few mates in a car to save on fuel and make the journey to lochiel or Wakefield, its usually good fun. A trip to Robertstown should be no different.

However it may be different for parents having to drive their kids all that way! But if it is once a year, then it is not so bad.

I would love to see another team in the league, especially to get rid of the bye! Also to play against someone new. I am not sure of the financial status of the club. Could they attract imports if need be?

John Doe wrote:Swamp Donkey, if you wanna criticise players for hiding you better find better targets than the Burgess boys, these two guys are the type who will stand up when it counts. Ben has shown incredible courage to come back from one of the worst knee injuries most ppl would ever see and fights through the pain barrier every week. I know Brett can be a bit out there & that irritates many observers but he's kept coming back and fronting up for a losing club for three years when the best way to hide would be to move on to a winner

Thats great to hear Johnny Doe. At the time I thought I'd mention it ( I still think it was worth a mention) and in hindsight it was prob a bit harsh. By all reports the Burgess boys are great for your footy club, will HB be trying to retain thier services next season?
