Exactly right WoW, target the juniors to play a year of colts and they are then 1 point players. Poaching colts footballers will be an art now. Clubs will be seen with parents offerring scholarships. A real indictment on how low we will now go, all because they are the rules we all have to work under. Fergusson, Jones and Jurek would be three point players for all clubs but the Bays, as didn't Fergusson win a colts medal with them. Maybe that is the reason he is not going to be a Rooster because he would be worth 3 points. However the kids at Goolwa have great respect for Popey. All 3 are top qulaity players and Goolwa or Saints churn them out.

[Just Joking LF. Thats the new points system. Steal other clubs good juniors with some cash and they are only worth 1 point. Ferg kicked 5 against us on good players, Has a future.... with Strath [/quote]

Hmmm, Sharks under 18's (2007) being offered $70 a game at a certain club for 2008? That club may struggle for a few years if Aldinga doesn't get Juniors going again.

It is a wonder Encounter Bay haven't had a crack at Fergusson. He would be a 1 point player there, they like recruiting Saints juniors after missing out and havinga real dip at Jurek. To his credit he saw the opportunity to play league footy rather than take the cash. Bays would have had to talk to Ferg.

Good to see Chris has decided to stay at the Panthers. Young guy with a bit of talent and has potential. Needs to exert a greater influence on games and with another year and pre season under his belt im sure he will step up another level.

Another GSFL product and hopefully Jack and the SAFC start to promote the local footballers and give them a decent crack at League footy and give them time to settle in to the different pace of the game!

Totally agree BJ. Jurek is a fantastic product from our league and with South going on a different tangent with policy the local lads are going to get their best chance yet. If they don't make it this year there is a fair chance they are not good enough and can walk away knowing they gave it their best. A change form not getting a chance because of so many half rate players from over the border getting a go before the locals.

Can I ask why Mitch Portlock gave it away at South just when he cracked it?

Dont be surprised if we see Chris sighn with another club (creeks) as he has put in a long and hard pre season but has been told by Jack and co he needs to pick up some speed off the line if he is to play league football. I would think he will stay with south and give it 100% but if he is not getting a look in at league football he will go get the money and play A grade footy in the GSFL.

I hope not Kappars, as I really believe that all the locals up there now have a real chance at SANFL level and Chris has been there for awhile and deserves to get that sniff. Why the Creeks, I thought Bays had offerred him a wad of cash through Jacob Baggs.

Like who? I wouldn't know him from a bar of soap and most of the people at the club I've spoken to are the same.

If yank are struggling as much as it's thought all the club delegates should band together and put pressure on the admin of the GSFL to help them . The league does'nt need another club to fold , this help's nobody . All the clubs need to band together and help yank out , if that is with financial aid or extra points alloctation then hurry up and do it . Everyone needs to remember that the league is run by the clubs not Herman ,Kev and co . They answer to the clubs and without them they wouldn't exist . Lets help yank get back up .

Well said s m. Herm the germ and happy Kev think they are Demetriou and Anderson and they are not and would not even want to be. A dictatorship is not what footy is about. I bet not one of those two blokes have even contacted Yank to offer help in some way. If yank don't want it then fine, but at least show some commonsense and find out before it is too late. We can all see something surely they are not that blind, or maybe they are unless there is another junket to attend to.

Dont hold back boys. A bit harsh on Kev and Herman as we have got one of the best country leagues. Ive played association and they've always been great. Its up to yank to put there hand up and say we need extra points etc, they voted for this system to be introduced. Also Heathy & Hubeners clearances were refused. Sorry Observer ( I dont agree with it ) but i told you this would happen.

Not saying there is anything wrong with the league WOW , i've played association footy and they do do a good job , i'm just stating that they need to act . If they maybe wait until yank come to them for help it may be too late . Be proactive and contact them , tell them there is help there if they need it , i know they are a proud club and would probably turn it down but the league should act . It does'nt matter if it were victor , willunga or creek , help should be there to support the club .
