My mail is that Birdwood have had good numbers on the track but not alot of quality. They will be competitive but will take time to blend into the competition.

Dont underestimate Rowett, Sleaze and Carberry. Very experinced players that will offer some leadership to the younger players. Blackwood top 5.

Shane Collins has had around 50 players on the track at Onkas. They will be around the mark. Shane is a very experienced coach. Top 2.

Bridgewater have recruited a number of police officers that are friends with the coach. Not sure whether they will be a top five team but will be better than last year.

Lofty have around 5 new players which will put pressure on the B graders again to work for there spot. Lots of kids coming up from the 17's. Madsen will be a good coach. Top 2

Loby have lots of good kids and will be a big improver on last year. I reckon they will be top 5.

Uri have lost lots of players but recruited already. Maybe with Matt Thomas gone they will be a better side. Top 5.

Hahndorf I have no idea. Heard they lost ruckman to Gepps Cross.

Mount Barkers idea that they would run an under 23 side has been put to bed. Pretty much lost every good player they have. Lots of kids coming up. President should have spent less time trying to build a sports stadium and more time looking for problems internally. Bottom

Ironbank have patched holes by recruiting a couple of players. There coach is a great lbloke/ leader and with all the kids coming up from 17's may be better than some people think.

Perhaps you guys could offer Sam B a contract if you think he is worth it.

ron, you say there was a possible problem between broady and coach last year, youre very quick to bag lofty about sammy not playing A's but is it possible that he may just not have been good enough to get a spot? lofty did produce one of the best A grade sides in 20 years.

and before you get all high and mighty boys i said ONE of the best, not necessarily best. the germans out at hahndorf would prob claim those honours. interesting though maybe the forum could discus this instead of bridgy and ironbank boys writing about the inside workings of the raining premiers.. just a thought.

Old adage .. good sides win premierships, great sides back up for another. Agree with GTW that Devils have yet to prove that point. Obviously Uraidla's 79-80, Hahndorf sides of 84-85, 92-93, and Mt Barker's 2003-04 teams are pretty well up there in recent greatness. Knowing how hard it is to win a flag, makes those efforts commendable. So really puts the magnificence of Heathfield-Aldgate's 7 in a row 1971-77 into something as Bruce would say - VERY SPECIAL.
Have heard that Brookers have heaps out on the track in first fortnight of training, maybe return of favorite son has kick started the club's revival.
However sad news is that one of Loby's and the HFL's greats is looking doubtful to line up in 2007 - a tragedy giving this blokes respect and ability within the HFL
