Are you suggesting that Doug favours United! If so you are kidding yourself! Trust me, Doug has lost numerous games for United has i'm sure he has done for other clubs. Put saturdays game down to just plain crap umpiring that could've gone either way cos he definately does not favour United.

think he made it quite clear that doug favours united and i agree, he's a dick, better off umpiring under 8's

Unfortunately whenever he is involved with a United game (that I have seen) his umpiring has been pathetic. Having said that, I have seen him umpire many games that have not involved United and he has been pathetic. You are probably right he doesn't favour anyone he is just a pathetic umpire and needs to give it up.

I did hear a funny story that he was lucky to get out of a YPFL game alive after showing off his trademark (picture hands in a yapping motion here) decision on too many occasions in the one game costing many goals.

What he needs to do if he is to continue umpiring is NOT talk to the players if he can't handle them talking back. Give his decison - shut his trap and not bait players. He is a dick - correct.

I think the APFL needs to purchase a "gopher" - electric ride on vehicle. Then Tallboy can umpire riding this around if he has a fitness issue

Totally agree with you Jumbo that whenever he is involved in a United game that Doug is pathetic. The thing is from our side of the fence we feel as though he favours the other team. He definately does not favour United as Moon Unit has stated. Infact we think he is that bad that we dread reading the informer to realise he is doing our game. A big sigh of relief is had if he is doing another game.

Maybe he is that bad that both teams think he is favouring the opposition!

Like Uncle Fester said, Andy Seccafein was about as bias towards TW as you could possibly get, so you've definately had your share of good umpiring over the years. Also I personally thought the umpiring in the A grade on the weekend was pretty good.

I think D Searle is just an incompetant umpire and everyone sees it - yep agree.

Don't have a problem with many of the other umpires - Bawden as has been stated here before is just ridiculously over officious - Saturday's umpires were fine from what I saw.

Yep agree there Jumbo. Most umpires you can try and make a wise crack to lighten the mood a bit but Bawden is definately one umpire that doesn't appreciate it.

Is the forum working properly again? Looked like they had some database issues this past couple of days.

Saw some posting about "happy" umpires disappear (eh MC) and the whole forum went ring up!

Tips for the week:
United by 5 goals
Hummocks by 4 goals
Balaklava by 10 goals
Tonights Hawks/Geelong game to turn out to be a fizzer!

Tigers over the Bombers by 8 goals
Eagles in a very tight one over the Roosters by 2 goals

Good game at Hamley yesterday, tough and close. Hamley seem to always push sides but can't seem to finish sides off. A lot of umpires get bagged on this site but we had young 15 year old Angus Budjea (spelling?) yesterday and I think he's great. He just lets the play go and doesn't try to take over the game. Also great to see big Mic Davey back firing, just needs to sort out his goal kicking, he was grabbing everything yesterday but kicked 7.6!

Happy birthday Emma!

I reckon Hummocks will finish second and then go on to beat Mallala in the 2nd semi for the first spot in the GF. Jericho is very hard to match up on up forward and their mid-field is the best matched to Mallala in the League. What do you think Swamp?

How did your coaching go on Saturday Donkey? There wouldnt be too many people around with a 100% record like yourself! :D

100% loss rate mate, it was the Senior colts. Crisis camp this week for the boys.

I know a good place to for crisis camp. Goolwa! Did wonders for the Long Plains CC. Many flags are a result of crisis camp.....

Apparently skirmish was the key
