wasn't too far off the mark. south were weaker than expected! and could only muster a renta crowd at willaston today.

Pac-man i hope u show your face next week at the kennel, gawler football is f0cked when you cant only get 100 people to the best park in gawler for a south v willaston match off.. gawler football has turned into a kids game.

the turnstiles will b ticking over to see what we don't know about the shuster medalist next week.

the reason they only got a rent a crowd is because the club is so divided its amazing it is going to take Jeff Brown and the rest of his Bandits years to get this rabble back on track

just wondering what other clubs think about a certain coach from central districts being on a committee to help south gawler recruit players and also on selection for a new coach at the club of which he only just pulled out of the running for the job sounds like a massive conflict of interest to me wonder how centrals feel about it be interested in feedback

Thanks for asking Skipper.
Ma and Pa were abducted and are currently being held to ransom in exchange for 51% of my estate at the back of Lindsay Park Stud. I believe that this will help fund Hahn’s match payments.
As far as the goats are concerned, yes they were also stolen, I am assuming it may be fulfilling the necrophilia tendencies down at the dog track.
Only joking WEARECOMING. :supz:

So what your saying osama is the only difference between us and you hillbillies is a heartbeat
P.S. Hahn gets little more than petrol money, great bloke.

And pigs might fly WAC. There was plenty of discussion last season about his pay and don't get me wrong if you have the ability to pay a player of his calibre, go for it.

Solid win by the Magpies , enjoyed watching the hitout and probably going to be the grand final preview.

Very good game at Tanunda with the ledger now square. It was a fairly high quality game with some fantastic tackling and tough in close and that was from both sides. Tanunda should have won by more as they controlled most of the play from half way through the 2nd quarter on. Probably not a lot between the two tiger clubs from what I have seen.

Biggest crowd that I have seen at a minor round, you struggled to get a park. Obviously the crowd was down in Gawler which is something those clubs need to work on, if South supporters are not going due to some petty division then it will only effect the clubs finances even more and the clubs that are hosting their away games. A few years ago Tanunda had a problem with parents of the junior players treating the club like it was child care. With a few changes with membership and a couple of other things like Auskick a lot of those parents are now hanging around and surprisingly they are enjoying it. It also helps when you start winning.

That's the important part Swooper! .... at the end of the day the ONLY thing a footy club can do to get numbers out to watch then at the prezos is have a successful senior squad!

Catch 22 isn't it Ball Breaker and I feel for the clubs that are struggling to get the numbers at the games because we need all 9 clubs to be successful and survive. GC are doing well but we hear on this forum that they are struggling with attracting a crowd. That would suggest to me that it is something a little more than just success.

In these tough economic times it makes it hard for the average Joe to get along to the local footy paying gates fees , grab a few cold tinnies and enjoy half a dozen hotdogs. I am sure this is a major factor in why crowd sizes are down especially for the working class in Gawler.

Which reminds me , anyone looking for a Storeman / Factory worker with forklift license and "can do" attitude ?

If the fine, fine people of Gawler are struggling with the whopping $6 entrance fee perhaps they could cut back on the purchasing of
Ugg-boots and Murmur pants.
Wouldn't have thought $6 is the reason....where are the past players and ageless traditional supporters?
Maybe pride in the clubs plays a part, the guys that write on here seem to have it but are they the minority?
Centrals and South are crud venues, devoid of atmosphere and no fun to watch footy at.
Surley the unwashed masses will get along to the Centrals V Willaston game this week, last flickering hope for the Donnys,
If they win, and with Centrals having Tanunda last round, and if Willaston can pick up 30 odd percentage points.... who knows?
This Saturday also heralds the date that Angaston begin to roll towards a GF appearance against Tanunda, players returning en-mass.
Now this statement will get canned, but stay tuned.......

An Angaston loss v Barossa or Kapunda is about Willastons only hope of making finals. Sportsbet currently has the donnys at 1500/1 to make the four, i think this is reasonable, but threw a grand on just in case.

A Grand????
That money would have been better spent helping 166 Gawler supporters into this weeks game.

No Pacman... Unfortunately there is no job up in the hills that you will get unless you have a PhD qualification as a minimum.
I am looking for a caddy on Saturday mornings if you are interested?

It just goes to show that the BLG is on the cutting edge of football management, its rumoured Collingwood President Eddie McGuire had consulted with the Bulldogs hierachy regarding their succession plan to phase out Occonnor with his understudy Nelson.

Swoop saw that both the Tan & Nuri ruckmen where in the best players, just wanted to know how that battle played out.

The $6 entry fee would have nothing to do with the Gawler crowds and lets face it most punters take in their own grog and food these days. It is just the way suburbia is going these days with no community feel and the clubs outside Gawler may have to look at this issue as well as the Northern Expressway nears completion and we become the outer fringe of Adelaide and the commuters rock up.

with a bit of luck the gawler clubs can get some of the low cost housing they have in tanunda to move imports into

I can tell you the $6 entrance fee will be keeping me from attending this weeks match against arch rival Willaston. That will get me a $5 Avanti pizza to consume whilst perched on the couch watching SANFL and AFL on the box.

If i dont land a job soon i could be there after the game to collect the empty cans Pinch Hitter and the rest of the Willaston crew leave behind.

Happens quite a lot, not just ruckmen, but all over the park... interested peoples thoughts on that, obviously some players get a wrap from their own coaches when obvious their oponent had the better of them...

In this case, I could see M C-S winning a lot of the taps, but Wells getting a bit of it around the ground... All depends on what was more value to their team on the day. If Tanunda's midfield at least broke even at the stoppages then Wells' field play would have him on top, yet if C-S was knocking it down Ghers or Nichols throat all day and they were dominating the clearances and Wells didnt get a lot of it, then M-S the clear winner....

If they both were influential, then do they not cancel each other out, and therefore do not show in their sides best, as neither was a deciding factor in the result???
