Sedan have now had 2 draws in a row. Anyone know of that happening previously? Hopefully doesn't happen this week!

For a league that is supposed to be on its knees the MMFL is in for a very interesting final series with three genuine flag chances.

OTP, you are with either BSR or Sedan Cambrai, is it an option to join Riverland Independent league for you guys since the HFL don't want to know you? Roberstown should join North Eastern league I reckon.

Thought that you guys would be interested in this - the VCFL have just wound up a 5-team bush league based around Benalla.

Cheers,

Bit harsh, just shutting the league down. I thought 5 teams would be enough to sustain a league. Not ideal, but enough!

MM could be done and dusted. Most clubs to find a home, Robby up in the air still. As a foot note can the Indy clubs ensure Ramco doesn't win their Premiership. Winning would be too much of a reward for their shortsightedness in leaving the MMFL which started the current situation.

What was shortsighted about their move?

I know where ya going there DW. The league would have survived if they hadn't given up after going from top to last in 2 years. All got a bit too hard for them. As far as being shortsighted, well let's see where they're at in a few years time.

Not sure about the move itself, but my understanding is a couple years ago they allowed a player to return to the club that had a dubious reputation around the club, and that this decisuion was the begining of their downfall in terms of numbers.

Is that player still there? Or is he at another club now?

I honestly dont know ... I juast know that in the space of 3 or 4 weeks last season the club went from a reasonable player base to forfeiting seconds games.

I dont know the players name, just heard the story of what he did through football circles, but dont feel its right to post here as I dont know how much of it is speculation.

Heard from a bloke the other day that Robertstown are goin to merge with Eudunda. They hate each other, anyone else hear of this? If so would have to mean the end for MMFA.

MID MURRAY MAIL MEDAL PREVIEW

IN a season filled with highs and lows, the Mid Murray Football Association’s Mail Medal on Sunday will be evenly contested and we predict it will come right down to the wire.

Blanchetown/Swan Reach’s Jason Rosenzweig is certain to have attracted the umpires’ attention after kicking 123 goals during the regular season.

However, it is the other forward star in Robertstown’s Jarred Mosey who we think will be a huge chance in this year’s count and take an early lead.

His mobility around the ground, not just in attack, certainly caught the eye of many people this year.

The dark horse for the medal is Sedan/Cambrai’s determined ball winner Ryan Johns, who was the association’s most consistent player this season.

Johns was best a field for the Magpies eight times this year and was in the team’s best players every match.

BSR recruit Grant Beaumont could poll well early, along with former defender Brett Gierke, while young midfielder Dale Payne had a good season.

Robertstown’s hard hitting on baller Chris Pfeiffer had plenty of the football and could snatch a few votes, while Sedan/Cambrai full forward Simon Noack and defender Scott Starkey should finish mid range in the count.

Morgan/Cadell had a changing side throughout the season and a majority of its votes will be shared amongst veteran Andrew Modistach, Bryce Matthews and Jamie O’ Callaghan.

We are predicting Robertstown’s Jarred Mosey and Sedan/Cambrai’s Ryan Johns to battle it out for the medal after both had stellar seasons.

Best review they've done for the year. Probably on the money. Mosey, then Johns likely, as midfielders usually get the attention, add the 100 goals. Too many players to rob Rosenzweig of votes at BSR. Probably last MMFA mail medal, so everyone should get along to it, have a beer and talk about what could have been!
