Yeah dunno MC not a stat Im up to date with and not important really provided they keep producing quality players that will hang around to play A grade as they have done over the past 15 years. Finals is always a bonus in the colts.

I guess my point donkey, is that to get coach of the month in a city paper for a team that is outside the four for the first time in a long time probably shows that its a case of who you know rather than what you know!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I hear ya MC, but he hasnt got a lot to work with, and does well with what he's got. Im sure he is no different to most other colts coaches around the place. I think awards like that go to blokes who are actively doing things to develop themselves as coaches ie coaches courses etc etc, coaching school teams etc. I agree it is a bit random to pick coach of the month for SA from the Mallala senior colts. Well deserved but like your suggesting there are many other coaches whom are also doing a great job.

- last years premiership side

did you get up on the wrong side of the straw pile this morning donk??

my point was that a lot of people were questioning how the Mallala A-grade would stack up this year.
even people on the inside of the club.

i think that with "less guns" mallala has a team just as good as last year, if not better.

the big picture is that i think Earl Snr would be one of the best coaches in the league.
and would think this would mean he would be the #1 at mallala (re: whitty comments earlier!!!!)

 Yet again the umpires destroyed what was developing into great contest. Their unwillingness to apply basic rules, stands out like hommer simpsons forehead. There is no consistency in ANY of their rulings. Here are a few examples, A player is sent from the ground for offencive language! when the F word was to be heard every couple of minutes throughout the game. A player chasing a ball that rolled out of bounds kicked it(over the clare road) after the central umpire had called "throw it in" no free, no 50m, no report for time wasting, And from the resulting throw in a goal was scored for the offending team. The umpire (whom should be a advertisement redhead matches) was over ruling the other ump from over 100m away and totally out of position when looking head on to a pack of around 8 players running at him, He pays a free for a push in the back!(also resulting in a goal). These umpires had a direct influence on the result of the game. Also WHY don't umpires reward good tackles that forces an INCORECT DISPLOSALE OF THE BALL? Has it been removed from the rule book?

But before that! it was a cracker! the rams jump out hard and fast then maintaining a Lead until the final term after the eagles persistence and some amazing umpiring  . The guys at virginia must stick together keep plugging away they are quite capable of a couple of up sets yet, And the club must look for a couple of quality players , full forward and ruck man, then they will be around the mark.

lets look at this one, a player kicks a player to try and trip him, gets sent off with a 50m penalty, and no report. That player is later sent off again (not sure why the umpire picked him up for swearing though, thought the scuffle he was in at the time should have been a better reason, if this was the one you were talking about?), still no report.

A player has a shot at goal, ball passes 3/4 post high, 1m to left of goal post (point), goal umpire signals goal. luckily in the words of the field umpire commonsense prevailed the goal umpire was over ruled and a point was awarded.
