It's a very interesting comp this year in the Mallee.

BDT seem to be the ones to chase after everyone has played each other once and Peake look likely to be propping up the ladder come the end of the season,
but you could throw a tissue over the 4 teams between them at the moment.

Very good for the competition.

after every team has no played each other it looks like its going to be a strong competition

BDT looked just way too strong quick and played like a very well bonded team. shall be extremely hard to beat this year and with josh richardson continuing to dominate the game yet with other players taking well advantage of teams trying to tag him out are shining. great depth and definately the bench mark

Murrayville were very impressive, alot of run and clean possesion was just great to watch. and Drew Crane can anyone stop him? if he keeps playing like he has so far they also will be hard to beat

Karoonda come to play but are yet to complete a full 4 qtr effort in my opinion, the win against lameroo was great but only really burnt them off in the last qtr with the absence of chris philby for lameroo. but with a team full of new players with a new coach, once smelt finds the right position for his team and everyone starts firing up as a team i reckon they magpies should aim high

Lameroo look lost without rocket. although he is still running for the team and dominating there B grade just the wiser head and footy smarts taken away from the team makes me think they have lost the X factor they had last year. But chris philby looks like a dominant forward and very hard to match up on, but i think we will see a stronger lameroo outfit in the next round

Pinnaroo looked very nice seeing them on the weekend with a handfull of players holding there own straight out of a B grade mate, some real quick forwards and they move the ball very quickly to there forward line which is a godsend for the nicholls boys they prove that it will be no easy task to get over them

Peake are hard to judge i hear they have impressed in a few matchess but still yet to fire, and havnt heard too much on Brendan Pett who was a shining light for the Lions last year, his delievery to sayers in the forward line was like bread and butter but with sayers missing the lions need someone to stand up if they want to be a force this year

anyone else have an anaylsis?

Went down to Tinty to watch the lad play against Lameroo last Satdy. BDT got over the line but there was never much in it and they just kept doing enough to get the points. Really impressed with Josh Richardson (44). Only a small chap but clearly has talent and footy smarts. Also Gregory (13) was good and one of the things that impressed me about him was his efforts to create another option for his teammates by being prepared to run down the ground from CHB which is where I rekn he played.

Probably not telling you Mallee boys anything here but can Chris Philby take a mark. Missed a few set shots on goal which may have made a differeince, but a good player and would have liked to see him in his younger days. Also Greiger seems to be a gun.

As for the lad. At half time he had amassed the grand total of 2 possessions but a move to the wing for the 3rd 1/4 got him into the game and then on to the 1/2 back flank on no. 13 for Lameroo, who was a star for them in the 2nd 1/4 and kept him virtually touchless for the last term, made for a better day for him in the end.

Bit worried about the gender of some of the BDT players at the after match function

Long trip just for a footy match but had some fun except on Sunday morning - Tinty's golf course sucks - shot a 57 for 9 holes but at least I beat the lad :)

I'd say that Karoonda and BDT are emerging as the leading contenders with Lameroo and Murrayville most likely to fill the remaining 2 finals spots.

Pinnaroo are still a decent chance to knock one of these two out of the finals but will need to win their next two matches (Peake & Lameroo) as they are currently 2 games and percentage down on both Lameroo and Murrayville.

By the way, which Pinnaroo player was propositioned by a male in Adelaide on Saturday night?! :D

i think karoonda are starting to hit there straps, combining as a team and cant see too many changes in the team they have now for the rest of the season. but BDT is still a good couple strides infront and look to be a 5 goal better team then what they were last year. murrayville i reckon will take 3rd from lameroo and pinnaroo will be pushing hard. and i think peake is already looking towards next year
