Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Postby shoey » Wed Jan 10, 2007 1:14 pm

while we are on the money topic my sources tell me that the blackwood president is spending up big time he wants to buy a flag to stick it up the hills league for what he calls shafting them last year with the central B's when in reality if he hadnt tried to pull a swifty and followed the rules wouldnt have happemed. I will be interested to see what happens when the money dries up cause i think as wolverine said a while back the pres might find himself having to sell some more of those bloody caravans if he sticks around to deal with the fall out that is :!:

Can confirm Shoey that Benson has bought Dads Army from edwardstown. All players over 30. Great development for the club.

Kluzek has been offered $500 by Bridgewater.

from what i have heard that is the way benson works dont worry about young blokes and your own juniors just look for a quick fix to make himself seem like the savior of blackwood he has stepped on alot of toes up there which i believe is the main reason for all of the departures it might pay off now but what of the club in the future? as for the saafl not sure if the members will go for that one it seems to be another dave benson fantasy only pushing for it cause it will put the caravan business name out to a bigger audiance which once again is the way this bloke opperates

I think its a short term fix for blackwood. I reckon they should have developed all their kids but its there call.

Nah mate but it sounds like something tastes a bit funky up there from all the blokes i have spoken to not being run the way i would think a club should be but you might dissagree do you think clubs sould not look after its own and look for that quick fix instead? which club are you tied up with

Only stirring ya shoey, I agree that clubs need to look after the people that have supported their clubs on and off the field through good times and bad. By getting the quick fix now just moves the problem on a couple of years when all of the mercenaries have left for more biccies.

Country 2007

Postby Sherrin » Thu Jan 11, 2007 4:41 pm

some interesting comments re country div

echunga would need some help GWW as they always fall over mid year, but from sturt?

and why the confidence in Nairne ORD Blues, the last five years they have been comp's biggest underachievers

Dawe to stay put at Meadows would help their cause

Maccy would have to rise
Blackwood will be pillaged from above

No word from T Valley way so Hughes Construction must have some busy new 'employees' ahead of the footy season

Kangarilla quiet but reigning premiers would have to again be favourite

Fair enough but I'm confident that they'll finish 5th at worst at the end of the minor round

Another Country Div. rumor I heard, then heard squashed on the same day is that Daniel Wicks was going to Echunga.

He's actually going to Tea Tree Gully

Have heard that Nairne have recruited well. They have picked up more than the Mt barker guys. Apparently have picked up some guys from Town as well. One from Athlestone and one from Broadview.

I assume you heard that Wicks/Echunga rumuor from elsewhere because I certainly wasn't suggesting that he was going there, just suggesting that it would take former Sturt players of his ilk to make a difference, not guys who spent the whole season in the two's.
