Jarrad TREGENZA - Nuri

Has been awsome all year In a team that has won enough games to get alot of 3 votes!!!

I would have to agree with you there, Tregenza is my tip to take home the bacon.
I still think Ben Newberry & Matthew Dawes also have a chance.
Roughies: Michael Taylor & Steve Eichner

Not a bad prediction but the thing with Steve Eichner, credit to him, is it will be almost impossible for him to get votes in games where FFC lose by big margins...

Couple of perennial vote getters might feature.

Scott Hahn/Mal Greewood/Shaun Baker.

Its like trying to pick a needle in a hey stack this year. I remember this time last year it was a little easier predicting the possible winners.

Tanunda - Newberry always gets plenty of the pill, Greenwood nearly won last year. Also add Wells and Schiller.
Nuri - Tregenza will poll well, but doesnt have the flashy game and flare to attract enough votes.
Angaston - Dawes will attract some votes, but has missed a few games. Harvey's extended absence will also cost him.
Centrals - Maybe Howard or Hahn in a side that has had some big wins, should attract some maximum votes in these games.
Willaston - Baker proven winner and Norsworthy pinching a few along the way, but not enough.
Barossa - The best Taylor in the competition, always under the umpires nose in the packs.
South - Vanderloo, 6 votes maximum.
Kapunda - Valentine will always attract some votes in a lesser side.
Freeling - Eichner - can never miss a fanta pants. Will get plenty of 1 votes.

1st - Newberry - It is going to be a Tanunda player, but his consistency may get him over the line of his other team mates.
2nd - Greenwood - Big maximum vote getter, in a low scoring count.
3nd - Dawes - solid season.
4th - Eichner - Lots of 1 votes and the odd 2 vote will see him get a podium finish in a record low count.

Ben Casey will poll well and could be a smoky if still a few more 3 pointers together.

Seelander coach of the year just for taking on the donnybrook challenge!! It will be Stafford hands down if only judged on Minor Round results.

Coach of the Year - Hadden.

Hadden is definately a chance, but Tanunda have still only lost one game in 2 years, so it would be wrong if Steve Lubke didnt get it because he deserves it.

This year should be another low count, would think that Tregenza, Greenwood, Michael Taylor, Dawes and Brad Taylor (GC) will all be up there.
If its a low count these next five games will either make or break someones chances.

Any truth to the rumour that nelson was told 3 weeks ago that he had the job next year? I also heard that 5 players have walked with him including Christie, maybe will be having 2nd thoughts about the descision. Who are the other 4 players?

anyone think that brad taylor from kapunda could sneek up there, not saying he will win but should poll well.

Aaron King could be a smokey, he's a proven vote getter.
I think Tregenza and M.Taylor are more highly rated by their respective coaches than the umpires

1st- M Dawes
2nd-M Greenwood
3rd-M Cragg-Sappsford

Nelsons decision has obviously caught the dogs hierachy with their pants down.

I scratch my head on this one. Yes, there are sheep stations at stake but this isn't the AFL surely finishing the year off would be better than pulling the rug out from coaches feet with 5 weeks to go.

Sponge will at least get to smile when he picks up the sunday mail and see's the results over the next few weeks.

Yes Sponge was told 3 weeks ago that he had the job with a firm hand shake. Not to sure about the 5 players.

good to see 5 players have backed sponge and walked if the rumours are true.
the amount of time sponge put in2 the club not just over the last 2 years but the last 4, i think he deserved better than this.
a handshake deal 3 weeks ago with the club that u have been around for along time should be more than enough. heard the roger james appointment was done and dusted in one day from the time he showed interest to the time he was signed.
obviously the club has found some money now that wasnt available to sponge this year. maybe that was the plan all along, grab a cheap local coach (and i dont mean that in a demeaning way) for couple years until they can build the funds to buy an attempt at another flag

would love to hear bradmans thoughts on this?

Spies tell me there were players walking also if Nelson STAYED. It was part of the reason the committee made the decision. It seems he may have polarised the playing group.
Some loved him, some didn't. Some of those which left after last season did so because of him.

no player would have walked with 5 games to go if nelson had saw the yr out.

Hopefully RJ has an A Team of mercenaries coming with him and a 5 yr plan because there won't be much left to work with by the sounds of it.

Coaching is a stressful gig. I've always been a believer that coaches get too much credit when things go well, and too much blame when things go wrong. And they are usually judged by people who wouldnt have the balls to have a crack at it themselves.

My sources tell me that no players are leaving Barossa because of Nelson leaving and that there is a positive buzz around the club with the appointment of Roger James. For the sake of the bulldogs I hope this is true. I also hear there maybe players coming back to the club.
