I'll be surprised and very disappointed if we miss the finals.

Completely understand your point BL, but i guess that is why i'm a dreamer.
We have a number of local blokes that are returning after not playing at all last year, the likes of Brad Schroeder and Nick Dabinett. And if you recall we were quite short on players that were injured or ill in that final last year.
And if you read all of my post i did say that it would be a race between Murrayville, Pinnaroo and Lameroo for who would fill third and fourth positions. Would be disappointing if Pinnaroo miss finals this year also.
Like i said it is always hard to tell with fluctuations in the league, until the end of the first round. Who would have thought Karoonda were going to pick up what they have after last year.
TIme will tell, but i think it bodes well for a competitive league again this year.

Not having a crack Dreamer, I was just wondering what the reasons behind your thinking were. That's good for you guys having all of the local lads on board and keen for the year.

I agree, it should be an exciting competition this year with Karoonda recruiting heavily, BDT will still be strong and the team to beat.

On a side note, Murrayville have a trial match this weekend against Padthaway, not sure of the format yet, but it'll be good to have a kick in anger before the season proper.

Lameroo looked good on the weekend with a mix of A and B graders subbed in and out for the six quarters.

Chris Philbey was superb and kicked most of Lameroo's goals. I'm not sure how many he got but it was at least 5 or 6.

Tough midfielder. Stocky and hard at it.
Walker also played well.
I don't know their ruckman but he also looked in good nick.
Lameroo has a very formidable side, good depth especially in their midfield.
Philbey was on fire and played really well although they were very one-dimensional through him.
That being said, no one could stop him so I don't blame them.
Rod Maynard doing a lot of 1 on 1 coaching with players at the breaks, pulling players aside and giving them some guidance, looks like a good leadership team there.

First round of Mallee football and netball this week (finally). The games are:

Pinnaroo v Murrayville- Can't tip against your own team

BDT v Lameroo - Will be out to avenge last years grand final loss

Karoonda v Peake - Karoonda should improve and Peake has lost Seyers who was a standout for them last year.

Three very interesting games to get the season started. How much have Karoonda improved? Will Peake be rudderless without Seyers up forward? How much, if any, have Murrayville and Lameroo slipped? Are the Pinnaroo locals as fit and excited as Dreamer claims? Will the Mallee League be the same without Rocky Thurlow creating a disturbance?

There are going to be answers to a lot of questions after this weekend.

I'm excited!

Fairly handy ins,

Has Graetz been cleared from Ironbank? I can't see a clearance on the HFL website for him.
