Is he the right person for the job? I understand he does want to get back closer to Pirie.
Ports paid a lot of money to finish last, but then again Sollies paid a lot of money to finish 4th!

What happened between BI and Squids management to cause his sacking?

Story is board asked for him to commit for three years, BI said he could only commit for one, so they said they would rather pursue someone who could commit long term, citing the current crop of good juniors coming up through the ranks need a stable league coach for the next few years as they transition to senior grades.
A reasonable request, IF that is the reason or is it just a cop out??

What was BI's record like. Where did Ports finish last year and this year?

Interesting for Sollies. I reckon they will compete with Bute for a particular Broughton identity to take on the senior role

Sawyer would not get the job, Sollies would not be that silly to give it to him, Mellows premiership team mate Chris Pollard will coach Sollies I believe after being overlooked for the Port job for some reason.
An original Port 'Hall of famer' this will come as no huge shock to anyone as he has wanted an A grade gig for sometime.
Doubt any players will go with him.
