I heard the Kangy recruits won't go past Murray Bridge for less than $600 a Saturday, they've heard the stories of Mr Huxtables' deep pockets    :^o

Well you have heard wrong BL !
Its amazing just what crap gets around the rumor mill and if you beleive it all i can say is Gullable!
Out of all the players that are going to karoonda not one of them would think they are worth $600.
why pay 1 gun when you can get 2/4/8 quality players for that.
1 player doesnt win games but 6/8 could make a difference!

True that. Having spoken to Huxtable, he said the club posted one of its best financial years ever last year.

Mr Huxtable could not afford $600 per player per week. The club did make a handy profit I hear last year which was a good effort in the circumstances. $20k from the bar and $20k from the canteen is the rumour.

I would like to see these 6-8 QUALITY players for $600 per week. A lot of clubs and not just Karoonda would be interested in that. Think that might be stretching it. if you got 3 for that you would be over the moon - depends on your definition of QUALITY.

Quality players: My definition, Players that can play the game well (hard / fair) (not super stars or individuals)that are consistant and put there hand up when times get tough, putting team goals first.

Will be a big move if he goes. Since he lives across the road from Peake,s oval. Very good bloke and has a good footy brain.

Does anyone have any idea who is coaching any of the ohter teams in the competition other than Karoonda? Have heard a lot of talk, but ver little official information.
Karoonda - Corey Smelt
BDT - Michael Brighton
Peake - Noel Barrett
Lameroo - Lyndon Hancock??
Pinnaroo - Rick Carrick??
Murrayville - Drew Crane??

Are these correct??

I can confirm that Drew Crane is Murrayville's coach for season 2009

My mail says too technical- without really understanding the basics needed- but more importantly started to promise things to players and do a bit of work behind the back of the committee. No one doubts him as player or value to the club- maybe just needed to concentrate on those things a bit more and the move wouldn't have been neccessary.

Carey you need to make up your mind with Sayers- you talk to too many people!

So what is the story Freak? Will Sayers be at Peake or won't he. Easy for you to bag someone for information if you aren't willing to say anything about it.
