ah! you get payed for your services? with the bye most players will catch up with family and job issues 1st. then it depends on who is on the selection committee too weather your selected or not. being country footy the way things are, the majority of players will no doubt have more rewarding thing on their minds, family&money to give up this is a Hugh ask for no return?( nothing 4 nothing in this day and age). sadly

i've would think it is a massive homour to represent your league and to play side by side with some of the leagues best.
I agree with your thoughts about the bye however, but there is also about three bye's through out the year and if you are picked and don't play because of work or whatever that is disapointing.
And you will have to find out who is on the selection comittee if you want to have a sideways crack at them, they selected a side last year that hammered the Yorke peninsula and you would have to think they know what they're doing, that, and like i said before most players that have represented the league in previous years have wanted to and that includes players from all clubs, so there is no bias.

Hmmmmmmmmm....interesting response... Swamp Donkey showed you the respect of asking if you knew what was happening. Suggested you would be the expert. And you type that stream of consciousness diatribe.

Great that Shane's still coaching though.

He's a bigger man than i am. I would have handed them the folders and told them to shove it.

Good on him, but i would then suggest that his resume will be out on the the Bar's of some other clubs next week, but thats just being mischevious.

A bitter, abusive denunciation.

[Latin diatriba, learned discourse, from Greek diatrib, pastime, lecture, from diatrbein, to consume, wear away : dia-, intensive pref.; see dia- + trbein, to rub; see ter-1 in Indo-European roots.]
Word History: Listening to a lengthy diatribe may seem like a waste of time, an attitude for which there is some etymological justification. The Greek word diatrib, the ultimate source of our word, is derived from the verb diatrbein, made up of the prefix dia-, "completely," and trbein, "to rub," "to wear away, spend, or waste time," "to be busy." The verb diatrbein meant "to rub hard," "to spend or waste time," and the noun diatrib meant "wearing away of time, amusement, serious occupation, study," as well as "discourse, short ethical treatise or lecture, debate, argument." It is the serious occupation of time in discourse, lecture, and debate that gave us the first use of diatribe recorded in English (1581), in the now archaic sense "discourse, critical dissertation." The critical element of this kind of diatribe must often have been uppermost, explaining the origin of the current sense of diatribe, "a bitter criticism."

From what I understand, some Virgina players took exception to his belief that the 'dick flick' is a legitimate weapon in footy. ;)

Fair call Swampy.
Abusing people is no way to gain any credit for Virginia.
It is only going to reinforce the beliefs of most outsiders looking at the Rams.

Interesting to see how Virginia go this week. They seemed to be on the rise until last week.
I wouldnt be suprised to see if they give the Tigers a run for there money.

TIPS
Balaklava vs Hamley - Balak by 6 goals. Few key ins for the peckers. interesting to see if 'Not So' Lowe plays in the ruck or backlines.
Two Wells vs Mallala - Two Wells by 1 goal. It will come down to a battle of the big men. Will be the upset of the week.
United vs Virginia - Long Plains by 4 goals. Closer than most would expect. Expect Virginia to come out firing!

I think he found out he was Tony Locket's brother and Garry Lions was his biological father :D

Will find out for certain tonight, but i would suggest that the news about Stokesy is correct, and suffice to say i would not blame him.

Well is he or not? Why wouldn't you blame him? Have just moved closer to Adalaide and lads are keen to get back into the game, have heard good things about Shane among others I may add and have been gettin out to as many games as possable. Virginia is the closest to where we are but being a "disgrace to the legue" im not so sure, may be better of seeking Jesus's advice with the Enciclopidia Britanica there  missed the day out there, didn't TWFC and VFG amalgamate years ago?

Nor is retaliating with abusive replies to spell out the fact the reply was abusive, I wonder if someone from VFC shit canned a club on a forum for all to see would one of thier members hesitate in getting a bit..........colourful  this is a footy forum isnt it? take it like a man or buy a box of tissues and go watch soccer

Balaklava have a vary sexy oval and facility out there by the way, don't know what the deal was with that goal umpire during the under 14s, very funny though
