I heard there will be a Littlehampton Football Club next year. Anyone know what this consists of?

A lot of rumours floating around regarding the make up of the league next year, but this a first for me. I can't see how or why there would be, however I have heard of a second Mt Barker side entering the mix, but this has been lingering for a number of years.

Given the population predictions for Mt Barker it is going to happen but when? Probably not until the new club has useable facilities....

Don't think Hahndorf would be happy as it would mess up their junior set up and fielding two teams.

It would make sense in regards to any new facilities on Bald Hills rd as the govt would love to see it getting used every week if Mt Barker and a new Littlehampton club both used it as a home ground although I can't see that happening.

There is a parcel of land in Littlehampton that could be used to develop some decent sporting/recreation facilities, however I doubt it would ever be used for that. Known as the Glebe land. I am out of touch with what is happening now, but the land, and how to best utilize it was something the council was engaging local residents about late last year.

Zero chance of Mick Godden coaching Onkas next @cracka. one of the best coaches in the SANFL, I think he would be more of a chance getting an assistant gig in the AFL.

I've heard rumors that the HFL will move to an U/12's, 14's, 16, & 18's next year! is this true?
I hope not because it adds no value

The age gap would not want to be expanded, as you end up with 90kg hairy men giants rag dolling lads who are barely pubescent in the U18s if it goes ahead. Can only see a whole lot of problems if that did happen.

Yeah I know. He helps out at Onkas when he can. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet. I was ecstatic & devestated at the same time in last years SANFL GF when Sturt kicked the sealer then saw him on the big screen. I'll be barracking for WWT this year probably even if Sturt make it.

Agreed. I'd hope they would raise the junior colts age to at least U15.5 if they raise the senior colts to U18.

As I understand it, the junior age groupings next year have been changed to U14, U16 and U18 (previously U13, U15 and U17.5).

Clubs split equally, the HFL president had the final vote to change the age groups.

Was it a div1/div2 split or some clubs from each div voting for/against

From my understanding mostly Div 2 clubs want to keep it at 15's and 17.5's. I believe Lofty as well. Div 1 and Nairne prefer 14's, 16's and 18's.
